NFL 2014 Season Summary

The New England Patriots face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, February 1, in Glendale, Arizona in Super Bowl XLIX. New England is currently a 1 point favorite over Seattle.

New England opened at +700 and closed at +650 just prior to the start of the season. After their 41-14 loss to Kansas City their odds went up to +1400. The Patriots then went on an 8-game winning streak and were the co-favorites (with Green Bay) prior to week 13. .

Seattle opened as the favorite to the win the Super Bowl at +500 and closed at +450 just prior to the start of the season. They remained the favorite until their week 6 loss to Dallas. Their odds also reached the highest point of the season (at +1200) after their loss to Kansas City in week 11. The Seahawks then went on a 7-game winning streak to end the regular season and clinched home field advantage. They were again the favorites to win the Super Bowl prior to the start of the playoffs.

College Football 2014 Season Summary

The Oregon Ducks face the Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday, January 12, in Arlington, Texas for the college football National Championship. Oregon is currently a 6 point favorite over Ohio State.

Oregon opened at +500 and their odds slightly increased up to until the week 6 loss to Arizona. They jumped to +2000 after the loss but quickly came back down to under +1000. They were the favorite prior to week 11 and then were the second favorite the rest of the season behind Alabama.

Ohio State opened as the 4th favorite at +1000. News of Braxton Miller's season ending injury made their odds jump to +4000 prior to the season kicking off. They were +2000 after their week 1 win over Navy but went back to +4000 after their week 2 loss at home against Virginia Tech. Their odds steadily went down from there and were as low as +600 prior to week 13. Prior to the conference championships they were +1500 after J.T. Barrett broke his ankle in the final regular season game. They entered the playoff semifinals as the third favorite at +600.
