Zach LaVine Has Game of His Life Against Hornets

Bulls star guard Zach LaVine had a disagreement with head coach Jim Boylen during the 116-108 home loss against the Heat on November 22.

LaVine felt “disrespected” when he was pulled in the first quarter against the Heat, when the Bulls went down 13-0. He finished the game with just 15 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 29 minutes.

Boylen said LaVine made “3 egregious defensive mistakes” and when asked about it he said: “Zach LaVine got 13 points scored on him, I guess. Or was it the starting 5? I don’t remember. I thought I was trying to do my job out there.”

He then told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports that: “I'm trying my best, I'll say that. I'm playing my minutes and trying to do the best I can do. It's tough, especially when you're in a rut. If he doesn't trust me, it's hard to trust someone who doesn't trust you.”

LaVine talked to Boylen before the Hornets game and they cleared the air and his message around the Bulls on Saturday was: “No drama. Let's ball.” He did just that, having a career game with 49 points on 17 of 28 shooting, including 13 of 17 from beyond the arc and the game-winner in the 116-115 road win against the Hornets last Saturday. LaVine broke the Bulls franchise record for most 3-point shots in a game and joined Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry as the only players in NBA history with at least 13 3-pointers in a game.

Heat Might Trade for DeMar DeRozan or LaMarcus Aldridge

The Heat are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 12-4 record as of November 27 and according to reports they want to make improvements to their roster.

Miami has thrived with All-Star forward Jimmy Butler leading and according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, they want to add DeMar DeRozan or LaMarcus Aldridge of the Spurs.

“When ESPN's Kendrick Perkins suggested this week that the struggling San Antonio Spurs should consider trading LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan, the Heat immediately came to mind, not only because Pat Riley said this week that he's open to making a move if it's the right one, but also because Riley has long admired both players and, most importantly, because neither has a contract that extends beyond the key summer of 2021.”

As I write this, the Spurs are just 6-12 and they've lost nine of their last 10 games. The season is still young but the Western Conference is loaded and making the playoffs after such a poor start won't be easy for the Spurs. They do have a legendary head coach in Gregg Popovich, so them turning things around is not out of the question but even if they do, let's be honest, they are not NBA Championship contenders, so rebuilding might be a smart move.

DeMar DeRozan (plus-1.1 Offensive Box Plus/Minus) and LaMarcus Aldridge (plus-1.1 Offensive Box Plus/Minus) have done their part but the Spurs just haven't been able to click together this season. The Heat are not slowing down any time soon and they could go after DeRozan and Aldridge, even if it costs them rookies Kendrick Nunn (plus-0.3 Offensive Box Plus/Minus) or Tyler Herro (minus-1.4 Offensive Box Plus/Minus), who are playing at a high level.

DeRozan or Aldridge without giving up Nunn or Herro then they would really improve their team.

Why Patience Is Key For The Toronto Blue Jays This Season

While the temperatures continue to drop and we move forward into the Holiday season, preparation for the 2020 MLB season has already begun. And for a team like the Toronto Blue Jays, who finished 4th in the AL East with a record of 67-95, they need all the time and help they can get.

The Blue Jays had no issue staying under their projected win/loss record last season. The over/under for 2019 was 74.5 wins and the Blue Jays easily fell short.

Last season is one the team (and fans) want to put behind them quickly. There were some uplifting moments, like Bo Bichette and Vlad Guerrero Jr making their debuts, but overall it was a crummy season that left fans thinking of Blue Jays' teams from the past.

During the winter meetings, where General Managers are face-to-face with one another could easily change the outlook of a season. With many holes to fill and questions to answer, GM Ross Atkins should be hard at work developing the Blue Jays for the 2020 season. The winter meetings see many signings and trades, so you can expect the Blue Jays to be in the thick of things in early December.

With that being said, unless the Blue Jays make some serious changes in the off-season, bettors may be suited to put money against Toronto during the 2020 season.

However, Toronto wasn't the worst team when it came to betting on the Over/Under or the Run Line, which is popular for Proline.

Last season, the Blue Jays had an over record of 75-80-7, meaning 48.4% of their games, Toronto would reach the over on the Run Line. If they add another big bat to their lineup or some speedy outfielders who can also snag bases, their percentage could go up next season.

If the Blue Jays were playing at home, you may have wanted to look at the under. With an under percentage of 53.2% at home, Toronto struggled to reach the over at home. Toronto scored 4.43 runs per game at home, compared to 4.53 runs on the road.

The Run Line wasn't welcoming for the Blue Jays last season, either. Toronto only covered in 48.1% of games and finished with a Run Line record of 78-84. It will be interesting to see if Toronto's percentages can go up, especially for their Run Line record. If they make changes, Toronto could also score more runs at home.

If you're looking at proline, it may be worth it to look into the Blue Jays staying under their projected runs scored during a game, especially at home. Toronto scored more runs away from their hometown crowd.

As mentioned earlier, Bo Bichette and Vlad Guerrero helped give life to the Blue Jays this season. Sprinkle in the fact that Cavan Biggio was also a regular player that helped the big club and the team has a foundation for the future.

Patience will be key for Toronto. Biggio, Guerrero Jr., and Bichette are all under 25. Add in that Danny Jansen is 24 and drove in 43 RBI, Rowdy Tellez had 31 dingers and there are several young studs in their farm, it may not be all bad for Toronto moving forward.

It's almost fitting that the rebuild of Toronto is a slow burn. Baseball has few key moments that can change the outlook of the game and the Blue Jays are a few key moves from being a contender in baseball. Toronto has more than a couple of reasons to be excited.

The rise of in-play betting

For those that take part in in-play betting, once a ball has been kicked, their eyes remain firmly fixed on the prize. The expansion of technology means that sports betting can now be undertaken in every minute of every game, meaning that sports betting itself has grown exponentially.

Most popular in-game bets

There is a standard money line, points spread and totals which are offered at almost every minute – not just an interval.

For those that want faster returns, most take on roulette-style wagers. That is, the next player or team to score in football for example.

Origins of in-game betting

Of course, in-game betting has not always been a thing; in fact, it has been a concept that has developed over a period of two decades which first began in the late 1990s when bookmakers would take bets over the telephone as the game progressed.

Naturally, if you have placed a bet on before a game for one side to win and by half-time that bet looks almost impossible to come in, you lose interest.

In-game wagering was a way of keeping the punters interested in what was happening throughout a 90 minute game of football, for example. As might be expected, it was the rise of online betting that allowed in-game betting to grow too, with wagering at the touch of a fingertip rather than a drive to a local bookmakers.

The challenges

Customers are demanding more, and competition means that product will be driven to include more betting options. With this growth, data must be tracked and knowledge of each market must be held on to whilst any extraordinary occurrence must be accounted for – a facet which is extremely difficult to do. And, with an extraordinary occurrence comes better opportunities for punters to raise more money as they take advantage of a soft line.

The statistics

According to the 2016 Gambling Commission, up to 25% of online gamblers have placed a bet in-play. And, in 2015, a Bet365 review declared that 80% of all their sports betting revenue came from bets made in-play.

A larger number of bets can be made with the introduction of in-game wagering too; the match result at half and full-time, the number of goals and cards and the goal-scorers’ names can all be wagered on, and, it’s no surprise that punters are fixed to their technology throughout a game.

The dangers

Naturally, with betting comes dangers, but with in-play betting these dangers are enhanced. Impulsive and compulsive betting are commonplace following inducements in live play. Of course, the illusion of control that comes with mobile betting can lead to a spiral of negative behaviour.

With almost any event of a match/fixture present to bet on, the opportunities are endless, hence the incredible consumer usage of these markets. But as in-play betting continues to rise, so will the dangers.

Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions Betting Pick

Longtime NFC North rivals are set to kick off a full slate of NFL football on Thanksgiving Day. This is the second straight season that the Chicago Bears will spend Thanksgiving Day in Detroit to take on the struggling Lions. Detroit is always slated to play the first game of the day on Thanksgiving, and the NFL has set up a terrific matchup for this game. Chicago beat Detroit by a score of 20-13 earlier this season, and the Lions will be out for revenge in this game.

The Chicago Bears were considered a Super Bowl contender when the season began, but things have not worked out that way. The Bears have struggled to win games against the best teams in the league, and come into this game with a record of just 5-6. Chicago can still get back into the playoff race this season, but they can’t afford any more losses. Detroit got off to a fast start this season, but it has fallen apart in a hurry. The Lions come into this game with a record of 3-7-1 and sit in last place in the NFC North. The Chicago Bears are -1.0 point favorites over the Detroit Lions in this game.

Quarterback Still An Issue For Bears

The Chicago Bears have an issue at the quarterback position as Mitchell Trubisky does not appear to be the answer. Trubisky did have a pair of touchdown passes against the Lions in the first matchup, and also threw two touchdowns in week 12. The young QB is still throwing for less than 200 yards per game this season, and looks lost when facing pressure. Running the ball has also been a problem for the Bears, who are averaging less than 80 yards per game. Scoring points has not been easy for this team.

Defense has carried this Bears team through the first 11 games, but they are starting to get worn down. The Bears are giving up right at 17 points per game, but they have struggled in the fourth quarter. Chicago will look to get some pressure on whoever is quarterback for the Lions in this game, in hopes of creating some turnovers.

Lions Can’t Find Any Defense

Defense has been a major issue for the Detroit Lions this season as they have given up more than 27 points per game. The Lions did hold the Bears to just 20 points in their first matchup of the season, but they have the potential to give up a ton of points. Look for Detroit to blitz a ton in this game in hopes of forcing some turnovers from Mitchell Trubisky. The Lions can’t give up 27 points if they want to win this game.

Detroit is averaging more than 24 points per game this season, but they are without several top playmakers in this game. Backup quarterback Jeff Driskell has struggled at times since taking over for Matthew Stafford, and the Bears will bring pressure against him all game. The Lions are averaging over 105 rushing yards per game, but that number is not accurate with Kerryon Johnson out of the lineup. Detroit will have to find a way to score on a very good defense.

Bears Beat Lions For Second Straight Time

The Detroit Lions have been riddled with injuries this season, and it has definitely played a role in their performance. Detroit is without their three best playmakers on offense, and their defense has been bad in 2019. The Lions will give the Bears a game in this one, but they just have too many question marks. Chicago has been a disappointment this season, but they still have a very talented roster. Look for the Bears to find just enough offense as they let their defense dominate this game. Bet the Chicago Bears -1.0 over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. Take the Bears over the Lions at our favorite pay per head bookie site RealBookies.

NFL Week 13 Predictions

We serve up ATS bets for two games on the NFL betting card for Week 13, with odds from Heritage Sports. A Heritage Sports review will show why they're the most respected sportsbooks today.

Week 13 will feature three Thanksgiving Day games on Thursday. First the Detroit Lions (3-7-1) hosting the Chicago Bears (5-6), then the surprising Buffalo Bills (8-3) visit the Dallas Cowboys (6-5), who are coming off a close 13-9 loss against the New England Patriots. The last game of the day features the New Orleans Saints (9-2) visiting the Atlanta Falcons (3-8). The Saints barely beat the Panthers, 34-31 last Sunday and the Falcons are coming off a disappointing 35-22 loss against the Buccaneers, though they beat the Saints in New Orleans 26-9 on November 10, so they can't be taken lightly.

Sunday includes a must-watch clash and potential Super Bowl LIV preview between the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens. Here is the complete Week 13 schedule and the early lines, courtesy of Heritage Sports.

NFL Week 13 Odds

Early Picks You Should Make

Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions

If you want to make some money on Thanksgiving, the Bears-Lions game presents a unique betting opportunity. These two teams met on November 10 and the Bears won 20-13 in Chicago. The Lions lost their two games after that visit to the Bears and they have now dropped four straight contests.

Lions starting quarterback Matthew Stafford has dealt with a back injury for most of the season and he's missed the last three games after suffering fractured bones in his back. The Lions played the weak Redskins on Sunday and they lost 19-16 in Washington, with backup signal-caller Jeff Driskel completing just 20 of 33 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown with three costly interceptions.

Stafford could come back on Thursday (though I would not force him to play for the rest of the season) but even if he is under center, it would be his first game in over two weeks and the Lions are just 1-7 in their last eight games, so quarterback play is obviously not their only problem this year.

The Bears have been inconsistent and Mitchell Trubisky is clearly not the answer at quarterback for them but they have something to play for because at 5-6 they can still reach the playoffs as a Wild Card team and they've won two of their last three games. Trubisky completed 25 of 41 passes for 278 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions on Sunday's 19-14 ugly win against the Giants and the fact that the Bears are favored with him at quarterback tells you all you need to know about how bad the Lions are. Don't expect a great game but at least you might make some money with it.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals

At +4, the Cardinals are a live dog when they host the Rams on Sunday. As I write this the Rams will host the Ravens to close NFL Week 12 on November 25, which means that they will have less time to prepare for this game. Also, the Cardinals will be off their bye week. The Rams still have a chance to make the playoffs while the Cardinals are just 3-7-1 but they've actually exceeded expectations with rookie head coach Kliff Kingsbury and rookie quarterback Kyler Murray leading an offensive rebirth for the franchise.

The Rams are clearly the better team but the Cardinals have enough young talented weapons to make things interesting and cover at State Farm Stadium. They lost 28-25 at home against the 49ers on October 31 and this game should have a similar outcome.

NFL Pick: Cardinals +4

City success and United troubles as Manchester turns Blue

Manchester has long been at the heart of the footballing world, with endless success over the years. Both United and City have gone through periods of difficulty and triumph but it is now that the tables have really turned in Manchester from Red to Blue. Here we cover the history of both sides, as City remain the second favourites at the NJ online casinos to land their third Premier League title in succession.

Manchester City

There is little doubt that the rise of Manchester City has been the biggest in footballing history. They have gone from bankruptcy to billions, which now sees them as the world’s most valuable football club. This putting them ahead of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Manchester City were founded back in 1880 and entered the football league in 1889. By 1904, they had lifted their first major trophy with an FA Cup success. A quiet period followed for the club before the success in the late 1960s, as they won the league, another FA Cup and a League Cup. This was all under the management of Malcolm Allison and Joe Mercer.

However, City then went through a period of decline, that saw them relegated on numerous occasions to the third tier of English football by the end of the 1997-98 season. They gathered momentum and gained promotion back to the top flight by 2002. The stuttering period continued at City before the stunning take-over for £200m by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s Abu Dhabi United Group in September of 2008. The takeover was orchestrated by the now-former chief executive Garry Cook. This saw them become the richest club in the world overnight. Times were set to change at Manchester City.

Considerable funding was then pumped into the club as they instantly looked for a big name, despite having not picked up a major trophy since back in 1976. City also still remaining in the shadow of neighbours Manchester United.

They were able to acquire Robinho from Real Madrid and he made a flying start scoring 12 goals in his first 19 games. City would then bring in Argentinian Carlos Tevez, as Roberto Mancini also took over the helm from Hughes following his sacking after just 18 months. The club again finished without a trophy but were able to bring in Yaya Toure and David Silva, which was the changing point. This also then led to the signing of Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid, with each of the three playing a huge role at the club in the coming years.

Manchester City then went on to beat Stoke 1-0 in the 2011 FA Cup final, meaning they ended a 35-year trophy drought. This then led to them picking up their first Premier League title the following season as Aguero scored arguably the Premier league’s most dramatic goal. This saw them leapfrog United to top the table as the tables began to turn in Manchester.

One of the real key changing points for the club was bringing in Pep Guardiola at the start of 2016. This saw him sign a three-year contract for the start of the 2016-17 season. He joined following a hugely successful period at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as he was now widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time.

His success was almost instant as the club won the title in 2018, and in the process become the first to attain 100 points in a single season. They also broke several records including goals scored. The following season, City won four trophies that included sweeping up the domestic treble, meaning they became the first English side to do so. This rise and success now sees them as the dominating force of English football and the most valuable club in world football. It is the culmination of a meteoric rise for the blue side of Manchester, as they now go in search of a Champions League title.

Manchester United

It has been a completely different process at Manchester United, as they have long been one of the most successful and widely supported football clubs in the world. The club was founded back in 1902 as Manchester United, who have now gone on to win more trophies than any other club in English football.

United have picked up a record 20 League titles, 12 FA Cups, 5 League Cups and 21 FA Community Shields. They have also had some incredible success in European competition with 3 UEFA Champions League titles, 1 UEFA Europa League, 1 UEFA Cup Winners; Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 Intercontinental Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup. This gives an indication of just how much success there has been at Manchester United.

Site: quora.com

1945 saw the initial big change at the club following the appointment of Matt Busby. By 1948 he had already led United to an FA Cup victory, whilst also finishing second place in the league in 1947, 1948 and 1949. Manchester United then landed the top division in 1952, which was the first league title in 41 years. United continued to move forward and in 1957 became the first English team to compete in the European Cup.

The following season then brought about the Munich air disaster, when the side were travelling back from a European Cup quarter-final victory over Red Star Belgrade. This was a very sad period at the club, as 23 lives were taken that included eight players, officials and journalists. This shocking disaster led to a period of transition at the club with Busby looking to rebuild the side through the 1960s. The next generation of young talent was also pushed through that included George Best, who helped them land the FA Cup in 1963.

Titles quickly followed at United in both 1965 and 1967, then in 1968, they became the first English club to win the European Cup, following the 4-1 victory over Benfica in the final. This team was one of their greatest in the clubs history with Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and George Best.

The most successful period in the clubs history was under Sir Alex Ferguson, who took over in 1986 and stayed until 2013. However, he had started slowly and in 1990 following an early-season run of six defeats and two draws in eight games, there were banners asking for his dismissal. That same season, United went on to win the FA Cup final, thus resulting in an incredible rise for the club moving forward.

Ferguson went on to lead the club to 13 Premier League titles, with the last coming in 2013. In this period they also secured 5 FA Cup’s, 4 League Cups and 10 Community Shields. He also led United to numerous European honours, such as 2 Champions league titles and a Super Cup. Throughout this period, Manchester United were the dominant force across English football.

However, it had to change and in 2013 he resigned as the manager of the club. He would still remain as a director and club ambassador. This was the start of a steady decline for Manchester United with David Moyes initially taking over as manager. Moyes did not last long and was sacked due to failing to qualify for the Champions League. United also failed to qualify for the Europa League, meaning it was the first time they had not qualified for a European competition since 1990.

Louis van Gaal would then take over the club and also failed to see progression, despite them picking up the FA Cup. This being the club’s first trophy since back in 2013. He was sacked just days later and United looked to Jose Mourinho to turn things around. In his first season, he guided United to a Europa League success, meaning they also qualified for next seasons Champions League. Despite this, he really struggled to push the side into challenging for the Premier League again and was ultimately sacked at the end of 2018.

This would see former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer take over at Manchester United as caretaker manager. It appeared the club’s fortunes were then changing as he followed this up with 14 wins in 19 matches. This included United knocking Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League following a 2-0 first-leg defeat. Due to this victory, Solskjaer was appointed on a permanent three-year deal.

Manchester United have now made their worst start to a season in 30 years as the decline continues. They sit 12th in the Premier League, having picked up just nine points from eight games. Solskjaer’s win record has now dropped to 47.5%, which is the worst of any United manager since Dave Sexton. This really does indicate the troubling times at the club and they are just two points above the relegation zone. It is clear that City have now surpassed them as the leading force in both Manchester and English football, and it appears it is going to be a long road back to the top for U

Life Lessons You Can Only Learn From Sports Movies

Have you ever seen Rocky before? How about Money Ball? Surely, you haven’t forgotten about Remember The Titans, have you? The producers even made sure to put the word “remember” on it so I hope it served its purpose well. Otherwise, Denzel Washington is sure to be disappointed. Anyway, I’m not really here to check just how good a memory you have. I’m here to talk about something that I know is close to many people’s hearts: Sports Movies.

That’s right. I don’t know when, where, or how (and I don’t even care) but I do know that you have watched at least a couple of athletic films in your life. If you live with your dad, aside from the pay-per-view football matches, you probably sit down for a good and exciting sports flick during the weekend. Maybe, you even watched this kind of film with the rest of the family. After all, most sports movies are family-friendly. It’s something that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike, people of all ages and places. Here’s a nice list for parents who want to spend movie night with the family: https://www.parents.com/fun/entertainment/movies/10-sports-movies-for-families/.

I guess it would even be no exaggeration to say that sports movies connect the world together. We may not understand each other all too well but we do know how to feel hype about competitions. Being competitive is just human nature, I think. And that’s why no matter who you are or where you’re from, we can all agree on one thing: Sports movies are the best.

But what is it exactly that makes them so good?

Why Are Sports Movies Well-loved By the Majority of Film Goers?

If you really try to dig deeper into the anatomy of films about athletes, you will realize that all of them are basically the same. So normally, you would think that spending a lot of time and money on something redundant and cliché is too much of a waste. Well, I would think so too if only I haven’t gotten into it in the first place.

A sports movie would often have four or five arcs. It will start out with the protagonist’s backstory, the retelling of his weak, emotionally-charged past and his dreams of becoming someone big. Then, it would be followed by a montage that shows hard work and growth. After which, the protagonist will then experience his first big failure – yes, even after trying so hard. And lastly, we will overcome his greatest failure and work his way to the top until he becomes triumphant.

Most writers would also try to throw in a handicap or two near the end of the movie just to keep the audience at the end of their seat (e.g. athlete breaks leg, gets locked out, gets called out for a foul that turns out to be setup arranged by the opposing team, etc.). The last part often shows how the MC overcomes the impossible and transcends his personal limits to achieve his or her goal.

Throwing in a love story or tringle in the mix also works half the time. Plus, it raises the audience’s hype, especially if you cast a gorgeous actress or a yummy hunk. All in all, I do agree that sports movies tend to be a little repetitive in general.

However, there are times when something so cliché turns into a total masterpiece. And the magic is usually found behind the lines delivered by the actors and actresses. Words are powerful, after all. It can either make or break a movie (check this out).

Also, one other thing that makes sports films so compelling are the underlying themes as well as the valuable lessons, viewers can get from watching the flick. In fact, we decided to list some of the best lessons people can learn from watching sports-themed movies. They are as follows:

Nothing Is Impossible If You Work Hard Enough

I think this is a pretty common theme among these types of films. Main characters don’t usually start out strong; they build themselves through training and hard work. If a movie is really well done, it even lets you peek into the growth of the character – what he or she had to go through to achieve his or her goals. Most of them would start out weak, with no real talent or genius. They have to work their way up brick by brick. To many people, this is very inspirational as they can also relate to the feeling of working hard for your goals. Indeed, nothing is impossible when you will it to happen.

Failures Are Opportunities for Growth

“Never give up” is a common theme among sports movies. Failures are depicted as merely minor setbacks and not a permanent state of distress. This type of film would often focus on silver linings and how failures help athletes grow not just as professionals but as individual people as well. This is why sports flicks are ideal for young children as it teaches them to work hard and never give up on their dreams no matter how life gets.

I think that even as adults, we should all remind ourselves of that. If you have been feeling rather unmotivated as of late, a good sports movie can perk your senses right up. Check out this list of the best sports movies of all time, upvoted by yours truly.

Be Humble Even In Success

Lastly, a good sports movie would have a subtheme focusing on humility. It’s okay to feel proud about achievements but never to a point that it consumes who you are as a person. Most films would feature a really down-to-earth, humble type of lead and they would show how a real successful person handles victory and triumph. They are grateful and faithful even after winning several times. Whenever films show the ugliness of the ego in the face of success, they make sure that they convey the right message by turning things around for the MC and making him change for the better. Humility is a quality children should develop while young and I think sports movies are very good teachers of it.

How online casino regulation is expected to change in 2020

The gambling market is expanding rapidly with online casinos being created here, there and everywhere and with it more users and greater revenue. The United States, Europe, and South Africa, in particular, are experiencing an unprecedented growth in this market and, as such, there is an increasing need for prudent regulation to support it.

The United States

Like at every level, the United States is a complicated one because regulation of the gambling market is not centralized. Each state decides whether or not it will permit online gambling and then the respective governor signs it into law. What may be approved in one state, may be denied in another.

Two states currently have a full ban on online gambling: Utah and Hawaii. Yet, even in these two states, poker or other games that involve skill are still legal which confuses proceedings even further.

The US sports a heavily-divided society and gambling is no different; bills to regulate online casinos are often raised in states, but critics of legalization have done enough to stop them so far.

States are extremely likely to continue deciding for themselves if online betting is legal and, if so, their own regulations, free from federal interference. But, it’s likely that more states will legalize gambling – however far – for economic reasons.

Europe

There is a broad framework at large for European nations to follow – Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) – but each nation can determine their own set of laws as long as they abide by this treaty.

Most European countries allow online gambling, but the UK, for example, is far ahead in terms of what is allowed. Lotteries, sports betting, slots, online casinos/poker such as Bet and Skill casino and bingo can be accessed online.

But, where one goes others are sure to follow, especially when they see the money signs at the end of it. The online gambling industry’s net worth will almost reach a staggering €25 billion by 2020. That in itself is enough to get more on board.

But, where the online casino market has grown, so has the frivolity. Users must understand that choosing licensed, regulated and legitimate online casinos to play with is the best way to bet online.

South Africa

The National Gambling Amendment Act of 2018 has improved the regulation of gambling activity by giving the National Gambling Regulator the authority, rather than the National Gambling Board in South Africa

For gamblers, South Africa is the place to be with online casinos, sports betting, lotteries and even land-based casinos dotted throughout the country. More laws are likely to come in to protect consumers whilst the nation’s desire to restrict foregin-based online casino operators to provide their services to South African players is unlikely to change.

Online is expected to receive a boost in the near future as land-based gamblers become increasingly challenged.

Growth is Certain

The online gambling market will grow with the recognition, legalization and regulation of online gambling. And, with technology’s expansion, gambling will be taken to a whole new level in 2020.

Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots Betting Pick

There are a number of terrific games on the schedule this weekend in the National Football League, but the best one might take place in Boston. The New England Patriots will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys in a battle of Super Bowl contenders. The Patriots still have the best record in the AFC, and the Cowboys are trying to play their way to the top of the NFC. There will be plenty of stars on the field in this game.

The New England Patriots come into this game with a 9-1 record to lead the AFC East Division by two games. New England did suffer a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens just a few weeks ago, but they have rebounded nicely. Dallas comes into this game with a record of 6-4, and they have built up a nice lead in the NFC East Division. The Cowboys have now won three of their last four games. New England is a -6.5 point favorite over Dallas in this game.

Patriots Defense Continues to Impress

The New England Patriots are usually a terrific defensive team, but they have definitely stepped up their game this season. New England is giving up just over 10 points per game, and they get a ton of pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The Patriots have racked up 37 sacks already this season, and also have 28 takeaways this season. New England will need to get some pressure on Dak Prescott if they are going to win this game.

Quarterback Tom Brady is not having a typical season for him, but the future Hall of Famer is still one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Brady has thrown for over 2,700 yards already this season, and he has also been sacked 16 times. Running back Sony Michel is averaging just 3.3 yards per carry, but he is also a weapon in the passing game. New England will need some balance on offense in this game.

Prescott Leading Explosive Cowboys Offense

Speaking of quarterbacks, the Dallas Cowboys also have one of the best ones in the NFL. Dak Prescott has thrown for over 3,200 yards this season, and the Cowboys are giving him plenty of freedom to throw. The young QB does need to take better care of the ball, and has thrown nine interceptions this season. Running back Ezekiel Elliott is nearing 1,000 rushing yards again this season, and is a monster when he has the ball. The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best offensive rosters in the NFL.

Dallas has had one of the best defenses in the NFL over the last few seasons, but that hasn’t been the case in 2019. The Cowboys are still a solid defensive team, but they haven’t been as dominant as they have been in recent seasons. Dallas is allowing 19.7 points per game, and keeping the Patriots under 20 would have to feel like a victory in this matchup.

Patriots Get Big Win Over Cowboys

This is a matchup of two of the most storied franchises in the NFL, but only one of them has been dominant in the last few decades. The Dallas Cowboys would love to be as successful as the New England Patriots, but they haven’t really been close. This game will be a battle of one of the best offenses in the NFL trying to score on one of the best defenses. Dallas has been able to find plenty of offense, but look for the Patriots to shut them down in this game. New England and Tom Brady will find just enough offense to win this game.
