When you’re a bookie using a pay per head (PPH), they handle the betting lines.
PPH services hire linemakers to set the odds and keep them updated until the market closes. If you have ever bet on sports previously, you know that the odds change
For example, if news comes out midweek that a QB isn’t going to play Sunday, then the market is going to move a lot and you want to make sure you’re not overly exposed to that game.
Another time you want to keep an eye on the betting lines is when they’re around key numbers.
What Are Key Numbers?
The main key numbers to focus on are for football.
We wouldn’t recommend worrying too much about key numbers in other sports, as you’d spend all day worrying about betting lines, which you shouldn’t be doing when you use a pay per head.
However, the two key numbers in football to watch out for are 3 points and 7 points. More football games end within 3 or 7 points than any other winning margin, which makes sense.
After all, in football you get three points for a FG and seven points for a TD as long as the kick for the extra point is good. These are the key numbers you need to always look out for.
Why You Need to Look Out for NFL Key Numbers
There are multiple reasons you should be on the lookout for key numbers in the NFL.
1. Higher Chance to Push: When a point spread is set at -3/+3 or -7/+7, there’s a higher chance that the game will push and you don’t want that to happen, as stakes are refunded and you end up making nothing. You could opt to move the line a ½ point to avoid pushes.
If the line stabilized across the board at -3, there’s a good chance the game will push. In fact, about 15% of NFL games finish with a winning margin of three points, which is the most common margin.
2. Teasers: You want to be careful when NFL teasers cross key numbers because those have historically hit at a high rate. You can’t avoid it in some cases, but if you notice a player is only betting teasers crossing key numbers and they’re always winning, limit them.
3. Risk Exposure: NFL games sitting on or around key numbers often generate the most action that week and you need to constantly be watching your risk exposure for every game.
Remember, if you have too much action on a game your PPH provider should have a layoff account where you can trade some of your action with another bookie to lower your exposure effectively.
Even though your PPH service handles betting lines, you should keep an eye on the most important markets. If you have local clients, you should also keep an eye on the odds for the local teams.
You always want to know what’s going on at your sportsbook, including where the money is going.

No sport out there can compete with football when it comes to popularity. Football is by far, the most played and watched sport across the globe with tons of leagues and competitions taking place both internationally and locally.
With so many football events, a few strange things are bound to happen during matches. In this text, we’ll tell you more about several football games that are remembered as crazy thanks to the events that occurred during them.
Germany vs. Ecuador, Friendly Match (2013)
If you’ve ever wondered “What is the quickest goal ever?” we’ve got the answer ready for you. The fastest international football goal was scored by Lukas Podolski during a friendly match against Ecuador in 2013.
The legendary striker opened the match by scoring a goal for Germany only 6 seconds into the game. In the end, Germany won the match 4-2, but the game is remembered by this goal from Lukas Podolski who is the third most successful goalscorer in German history.
PAOK vs. AEK (2018)
In football, no matter what the referee’s decision is, someone will feel wronged. During almost every football match, there’s someone dissatisfied with a referee’s decision regarding a questionable situation.
People’s reactions to referees decisions have been highly interesting, but one is widely remembered as the craziest ever. Namely, after a referee took a decision against his team, Ivan Savvidisthe, the Russian owner of PAOK FC decided to sort out the issue in his own way. He took a handgun and stepped into the field to try and change the referee’s decision to disallow PAOK's 89th-minute goal against AEK Athens.
AS Adema vs. SO l'Emyrne (2002)
This match that took place in 2002 is, by far, the one during which most goals were scored. The final result once the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the match was 149 – 0 in favour of the SOE.
However, all these goals were own-goals that SOE players scored on purpose in order to protest against referees and decisions from the previous match that ultimately led them to lose the league title.
Yet, although the match holds the record for the highest number of scored goals in football and is recognized by the Guinness Book of Records, it didn’t end up favourably for SOE. After the match, Zaka Be, the SOE coach, was suspended for three years. Also, four of the team's players got a suspension that lasted until the end of the season, one of which was the captain of the Madagascar national football team, Mamisoa Razafindrakoto.
Australia vs. American Samoa, Qualifying Match for FIFA WC (2002)
When it comes to the highest number of goals scored by an individual, an average football fan would probably automatically assign the title to famous players like Lionel Messi or Christiano Ronaldo. However, the truth is somewhat different.
A qualifying match between Australia and American Samoa for FIFA WC was the football match during which a single individual scored the most goals ever. The guy responsible for the spectacle was Archie Thompson who scored 13 goals for Australia in this match against American Samoa.
Claypole vs. Victoriano Arenas
Can you imagine watching a football match and witnessing the dismissal of all players from both teams? This is exactly what happened during a match in Argentina between Claypole and Victoriano Arenas.
What started as a fight between two players eventually led to a mass brawl. The only way the referee could sort out this issue was to show the red card to every single player from both teams, meaning there were a total of 36 red cards shown. Needless to say, this also meant that the match was over.
While it won’t be the ideal opening the league was hoping for, we finally get our first look at brand new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., on Sunday Night Football as the Los Angeles Rams host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. The NBC kickoff at the $5 billion stadium is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday.
In the last 60 years, these teams have met 35 times, 26 in the regular season, and Dallas leads 18-17. Last year the Cowboys won in Dallas 44-21 in Week 15 after the Rams won the playoff game between the two teams in January 2019. The teams haven’t played a regular-season game in Los Angeles since the Cowboys won 24-21 in 1990.
Dallas Cowboys Outlook: New Coaches, Same Stars
The Jason Garrett era ended in Dallas with another 8-8 season in 2019 as the Cowboys missed the playoffs. The offense was top 10 in scoring at 27.1 points and No. 1 in yards at 431.5 yards per game. The defense was 11th in scoring at 20.1 points but forced just 17 turnovers on the season as Dallas lost six games by one possession.
Super Bowl champion Mike McCarthy takes over as head coach and inherits an offense that is mostly the same with QB Dak Prescott, RB Ezekiel Elliott and WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. Gone are C Travis Frederick, TE Jason Witten and WR Randal Cobb, but Dallas drafted WR CeeDee Lamb and added K Greg Zuerlein.
Prescott established new career highs with 4,902 passing yards and 30 touchdowns, while Elliott ran for 1,357 yards and 12 scores. Cooper and Gallup both went over 1,100 yards receiving and combined for 145 catches and 14 touchdowns.
The defense added DE Everton Griffen, DE Aldon Smith and DT Dontari Poe while losing DE Michael Bennett, DE Robert Quinn and CB Byron Jones. Dallas had just seven interceptions last season and needs to replace two of the top three sack leaders. LB Jaylon Smith led the team with 142 tackles, while LB Sean Lee added 86.
Los Angeles Rams Outlook: New Stadium, New Look
The Rams suffered a Super Bowl loss hangover last year as they dropped four games in the standings and missed the playoffs at 9-7, third in the NFC West. Sean McVay’s offense took a step back with just 24.6 points per game and 24 turnovers.
He brought in Kevin O’Connell as the new offensive coordinator. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips retired after his squad allowed 22.8 ppg and finished in the middle of the league in yards allowed.
The offense returns QB Jared Goff, who threw for 4,638 yards in 2019 with 22 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. RB Todd Gurley is now in Atlanta, so the backfield consists of draftee Cam Akers, Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson.
The latter two ran for a combined 402 yards and five touchdowns last year and are not pass-catching running backs.
The wide receiver position has two of the top three targets back as Robert Woods (90 receptions, 1,134 yards, two TD) and Cooper Kupp (94 receptions, 1,161 yards, 10 TD) are both back, but Brandin Cooks is now in Houston. Josh Reynolds, who had 21 catches last year, and rookie Van Jefferson, are replacing him.
The defense has a new coordinator with Brandon Staley and also lost LB Dante Fowler, LB Cory Littleton, LB Clay Matthews and S Eric Weddle while adding DL A’Shawn Robinson, LB Leonard Floyd, LB Terrell Lewis and S Terrell Burgess.
Robinson is on the NFI list with a heart ailment, so he won’t join Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers on the line as planned. The Rams do get a full season from CB All-Pro Jalen Ramsey, while DBs Taylor Rapp, Troy Hill and John Johnson all had two interceptions last year.
Both teams have new coaches and systems to learn without preseason games to see where they stand. Dallas has the better defense and more firepower on offense so look for Prescott and Elliott to lead the Cowboys to a season-opening win.

The sport of bowling has a very rich history and has become one of the most popular sports and recreational activities for families all over the world, not to mention it makes a good hobby as well. There have been a few claims regarding this, for instance, a British anthropologist found items like these in Egypt, and traced it back to possibly being as old as 3200BC. But then another gentleman from Germany stated that it began in his country back in the 300AD. This excerpt from the bowling museum may be of interest to any reader or bowling enthusiasts alike click here.
In England, it was a popular activity during the reign of King Edward the third, when there were a few different variations of the game, that included throwing a ball at objects other than “pins”. From hardwood balls to the 21st-century design made of Urethane, resin, and types of plastic. Now it has even become a sport in the Olympics and over 95 million people worldwide enjoy it. Competitions happen everywhere.
Many people are now obsessed with the sport especially those who have a competitive streak, but learning it takes time and improving your skills and techniques takes a few different elements, that involve training aids, practicing at the bowling alley constantly, and making the time for it, but not everyone has the time or the ability to do this. Which is why there are specific ways to enhance all the parts of anyone’s bowling skills within no time. Below you will find a few of these options.
Training Aids to Help Your Bowling Skills
When looking to practice specific aspects of the game, the below choices of equipment can help as an all-rounder or specific aids, from improved balance to optimal hand positioning and even faster ball revolution rates. Check bowlingline.com/bowling-training-aids and learn how each trainer works. To name a few:
Two-Handed Bowling Swing Trainer. Engineered to be used with two hands, this piece of item is for those who want to learn how to do it with two hands. One does not necessarily need to use only one hand when doing this activity, which is why this option is here. The way it is designed is created with two holes structurally placed slightly apart for anyone to enable holding it with two hands.
Made of solid silicone rubber, it is a safe option and will not break if dropped. One can learn how to improve their arm position, hands, and body positioning as well without having to use your full-weight.
Bowling Release Trainer. Additionally, you can also get the tools that will help you practice the game itself rather than enhancing specific parts of your game. Such as this release trainer which is made for performance and proper release of the bowling ball.
You simply place your fingers inside the two holes, like you would with a ball, and your hand in the correct position as well, and release it, making sure you position both hand and fingers in the correct manner, which is the key here – to build muscle memory through correctly positioning all aspects from your fingers up to your forearm, this is known as revolution rate or revolution axis which is a type of calculation to find out how many frames per hour you can play. Typically calculated during training sessions and competitions.
Better Balance Training Aid. If you’re looking to perfect your balance, the options using a swing axis coupled with a balance trainer can be a total game-changer. How it works is by placing by the item on the ground, then you step on it with one foot and lift the other, almost like a balance board that you find at the gym or fitness centers.
Once you’re in balance, you take your swing axis and swing it back and forth for as long as you are comfortable with. One can achieve perfect balance using these two combined items, in no time.
The Ball Motion Trainer. Then there is this item which is a more modern take on a release trainer but teaches you about your hand positioning, which is a very important aspect in any game, it can make or break your winnings. The position of your hand when you release the ball is crucial. Sometimes you may find a slight deviation in the angle which could cause you to miss the mark altogether and lose points.
This tool allows you to see the spin axis clearly, and one can change the position of your hand to see how it affects the motion of the ball. This is one of the best trainers on the market.
We hope this quick guide above gives you some idea of which skill you need to enhance and the corresponding tool to use for it to make the best out of every game Afterall it is about winning!
For many betting has always seemed a bit of a science, an insider trade as those with the knowledge can be successful and newcomers can struggle with the many nuances – understanding the teams and their history of play, the many advantages one may have over another for a variety of reasons such as time of year, or homefield advantage, and being able to make an informed decision is a great benefit. Whilst using sports odds and the information at hand is prudent, it seems many punters are starting to change their approach from the typical odds as COVID-19 has become an important factor in sports betting.
Previously mentioned factors such as home field advantage are starting to be weighted less when considering a bet – if the stadium is empty of fans and all the noise and distraction they bring, home field advantage in this example no longer really exists. Similar has been seen in other disciplines such as combat sports, where some fighters may thrive off of a live crowd and all the excitement they bring, others may be a little more measured in this approach and would greatly benefit from the lack of the crowd distraction. It’s certainly an interesting angle for many to take, and then when looking at the layoff periods and the lack of pre-season or smaller training camps for a number of sporting events too, there’s a lot of information that deviates quite widely from the norm and has had quite a huge impact.
The uncertainty has led others to try something a little different too for scratch the itch – with sports betting being largely unavailable at the start of the year through event cancellations and postponements and now the difficulty with accurately predicting results, some are turning to gambling alternatives – online casinos have certainly been the most popular option here as operators are registering new games on a regular basis as initiatives such as Gamstop have made participation for some difficult, many are highly praised such as this review of red lion and serve some punters as a great alternative.
It is all good news for the betting companies however as many have stated just how good this period could be – with the increasing viewership at home many suspect that sports betting as a whole will see a marked increase as fans hope to get involved in the game a little more if they’re unable to actually attend the events – Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US said “People are spending more time at home because of the virus. There is less to do. They are not going to concerts, they are not going to sporting events, they are not going to the movies. They are watching sports on TV and betting on them” showing a lot of confidence in the upcoming seasons particularly in US Sporting and suggesting that many of them could see record numbers being broken for these very same reasons – and it’s not too difficult to believe when similar had been true across Europe once football got back underway in June.
Professional tennis is finally starting to return, with the US Open set to go ahead and some of the biggest names in the sport getting back into action. The return to the courts also presents plenty of opportunities to get involved in tennis betting, giving you the chance to enjoy the action and make some money. With 2020 closing out the decade, we’ve decided to take a look at the best players over the last 10 years.
10. Dominic Thiem
The 26 year old Austrian only really came to prominence towards the end of the decade, but in reaching the Australian Open final and the French Open final twice in the last three years, he’s tipped to go onto much bigger things.
9. Angelique Kerber
Since 2016, the 32 year old German has won Wimbledon, the US Open and the Australian Open. The French Open remains the only Grand Slam out of her reach, but here is still time for her to rectify that.
8. Simona Halep
Seems to have been on the tour forever, but is still only 28 years old. She struggled at the beginning of the decade, but finished with a French Open win in 2018 and Wimbledon win in 2019 to secure her place in this list.
7. Maria Sharapova
Despite only 2 Grand Slam titles in the last decade, she deserves her place here. Ranked number one on five separate occasions, the Russian’s stellar 19 year career at the top level has secured her status as a legend in women’s tennis.
6. Stan Wawrinka
As the focus of men’s tennis began to shift towards extraordinary levels of stamina and physical strength, Stan the man rose to the fore. In the middle of the decade, he won the Australian Open (2014), the French Open (2015) and the US Open (2016).
5. Andy Murray
In 2013, Murray cemented his place in British sporting history when he became the first Briton to win Wimbledon since Fred Perry in 1936. The year before, he won the US Open and added another Wimbledon crown to his list of honours in 2016.
4. Serena Williams
Arguably the greatest women’s player of all time. Her dominance saw her win 12 of her 23 Grand Slam titles in the last decade and she remains just one title behind Margaret Court’s all-time record, it’s unlikely she’ll retire until she at least matches it.
3. Rafael Nadal
A firm fan favourite due to his never-say-die attitude, the Spaniard has amassed 13 Grand Slam titles in the last decade. Eight of those were in the French Open, earning him the deserved nickname the “King Of Clay”.
2. Roger Federer
Despite only landing four Grand Slam titles in the last decade, the Swiss is simply timeless. At 39 years old, he continues to mix it with the very best players and more than holds his own. He effortlessly glides around the court and his backhand is simply a work of art, having been dubbed the favorite among the best tennis betting sites for the past decade. The most talented player there has ever been, without a doubt.
1. Novak Djokovic
Landing 16 Grand Slam titles in the most competitive era of men’s professional tennis is no mean feat. Djokovic’s stamina is hardly believable and he’s developed his style to enable him to literally beat anyone on the tour. A worthy number one.
Placing bets at some of the most outrageous odds always seems like a good idea at the time but only rarely comes off due to the high odds that bookies offer. However, sometimes when this is done there is always the miraculous times in which they come off and the rounds in the pub are on you! In today’s article we look at some of the biggest shocks to the bookies in sports history.
When thinking about the impossible underdog stories, the one that comes to most in when Leicester City defied the odds 5000/1 to claim themselves as Premier League champions in 2015/16. It was such long odds that the bookies claimed that the Queen recording the Christmas number one was more likely than Leicester pulling off the unlikely win. Some foxes fans put some money on these odds and seriously gave the bookies a bashing.
The 2005 Champions League Final between AC Milan and Liverpool was quite an even affair although Liverpool did just go into the match as slight underdogs. However, the story of this upset comes after half time as AC Milan went into the dressing room at half time at 3-0 up and cruising towards the coveted Champions League trophy. Due to this, the bookmakers made Liverpool 100/1 to win the cup in normal time; something that looked impossible. However, this Liverpool side wouldn’t lay down and went on to win the cup on penalties and made it their 5th European title.
Djibril Cisse on Steven Gerrard during the 2005 Champions League final::
🗣️ "He asked the staff to be alone with the players. He said that he was a Liverpool kid, this has always been his club, he didn't want to see his club lose like this, being humiliated." pic.twitter.com/Sxu2BPj0bF
With it currently being the off season for many live sporting events, punters have had to find alternative ways in which to entertain them during this time of limited sport. Online casinos have been the beneficiary of this as many punters have found themselves on Casinos Not On Gamstop due to it being an unrestricted 24/7 service.
The last biggest upset on this list would be that of Buster Douglas beating then feared Mike Tyson which is still widely regarded as one of the biggest upsets in the sports history. The bookies were offering odds as high as 42/1. Tyson was the undisputed king of the divison at the time having held every single belt and was huge favourite to continue his reign at the top. Douglas knocked down Tyson in the 8th round and then finally knocked him out in Round 8.
According to Britannica, the online source, the game of Tennis was originally known as “lawn tennis” and the idea behind it was that two players, opposing each other, or double players (2 on each side) using their tennis racquets, hit the ball, of a specific size, material, and weight, which is meant to bounce over the net that is placed in the center of the court. After which points are awarded to each player.
From multiple different strokes to multiple different courts, this is a fascinating game of strategy and clever movements to weaken your opponents and put them in a vulnerable position to your advantage, to get those points. There are rules to the game that creates a more organized structure and the players are supposed to play according to these rules, which typically are implemented by the governing body of the sport, the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Further information can be found online.
In the Beginning
If you’re a sports enthusiast, sometimes it’s good to know where the sport originated from or how it came about. Although with this one there is a dispute regarding this, and no one really knows how and when it was invented. It was officially recognized as a sport back in the early ‘70s and introduced by a popular person back in the 1800s when a book was written about it and its rules, however, there were other similar sports being played at the time.
The first tennis club was established in England by a gentleman known as Harry Gem, and this was still in 1872. This came about as a progressive sport from badminton; however, the courts were different, and in any case, they were both patented.
The first team competition established was the famous “Davis Cup” dubbed the International Lawn Tennis Challenge Trophy originally, in Great Britain in the 1900s. Both women and men played the game successfully and won multiple awards. Thereafter it became a highly popular game played by many and introduced into schools and recreational facilities for both adults and children.
For any enthusiast, knowing how to play the game is a good form of activity and can get people lots of awards and scholarships when taken seriously. Of course, one can also play it as a hobby or a day time leisure activity with friends or family as well. This article touches on a few tips for beginners for when they want to learn how to play the game, including some information on the strategies used by professionals, the different types of strokes, and ultimately the point system that is in involved in the game for when you play tournaments or competitions of any kind.
How to Play the Game?
Any typical tennis court will have the dimensions of 78 by 27 feet (23.8 by 8.2 meters) for singles and 78 by 36 feet (23.8 by 11.0 meters) for doubles. As mentioned earlier, there is a net placed in the center of the court, the height of which is usually 3 feet, supported on each side by posts that are slightly longer at about 3.5 meters.
Back in the day when it first originated, it was played on a lawn, made of grass, but as the game progressed people found it better to play on the tougher ground made of clay or synthetic materials or asphalt and some may have artificial grass or “turf” https://www.ccgrass.com/how-to-choose-tennis-turf/.
The tennis ball that is used to play the game, is created out of a pressurized rubber core covered with high-quality material such as cloth made from a combination of nylon and wool. When tournaments happen these balls because they go soft after several hits, they are changed on a regular basis to keep them tough and better to play with, and in keeping their outer surface uniform, makes for a fair play.
These are usually colored white or yellow and when created are tested for bounce rates, for instance, they must bounce at a height of at least 58 inches on concrete flooring. In terms of the racquet used to play the game, there was not much in the rule book when it first began and the options were spaghetti wire or double-strung wire racquets. In time, this changed to include a rule in the books, stating that the appliance needs to consist of a frame that can be created from any type of sturdy materials such as wood, the fiber of plastic and the strings must be interlaced, to cross over and under each other.
Rules and Principles of The Game
Before beginning any match, the decider is based on any opponent tossing a coin to decide on who will serve and who will side. The winner of the coin toss may decide this and if he picks serve then the opponent will get a side and vice versa. The serving is done by both players in an alternating concession, one after the other.
Once begun, the player who serves first should be standing on the right-hand side of the court (his/her right), and both of their feet must be behind the baseline of the court. They then hit the ball towards the opposite end across the court to the opponent’s right-hand side. A “let” is when the ball hits the net while serving it, and as such needs to be replayed. The person serving is only allowed one fault, which means the ball can either fall into the net or outside of the court. If they fault more than once, they lose a point.
When the ball gets to the opponent, he returns it with the same hit of the racquet, done before it hits the ground, and over the net without hitting it outside of the court. This act of hitting it before it bounces to the ground is known as “volleying the ball”. When training it is always best to choose the equipment that you are most comfortable with, including the racket and the ball, some of the best balls for tennis training can be found in sports stores or online from reputable sources, and buying a few is our best bet, as with training one will play a lot and the ball may go through wear and tear depending on the surface you play on.
How to Win A Game of Tennis?
In order to win the game of tennis, anyone player must win 4 points by a margin of 2. So, the basic scoring will be 15,30,40. The explanation for this has never been found, nevertheless, three points equal to 40. There is some jargon that you will need to get used to as well, for instance, “Love” is a term that was derived from l’oeuf, the French word for “egg.” Refers to 0 or Zero, or “deuce” which is the term referred to both players the same score of 40 points.
When calling out the scores, the person who served first gets the first score readout so if it is 30-15 then 30 is the server’s score and 15 his/her opponent’s score. This means, 2 points to 1 point (1 point is 15 and 2 points is 30). There is no limit to how many times a game can go to “deuce” as mentioned above, however, sometimes a no-ad system is used which entails the first player to reach four points wins the game. In basic terms, points make up a game, multiple games make up a set and these sets will make up a match. The traditional logic is that the first player to win all 6 games, is the ultimate winner of the tournament.
When playing a tournament, such as the Davis Cup, men typically play a game a match consisting of the best of five, and the women will play the best of three matches or sets. In other forms of tournaments, this can be flexible where men can also play three sets instead of five, for instance at the Olympics competitions.
When players are playing in doubles, the same rules and principles apply for scoring. Serving will alternate between the two teams, this must be decided in the begging as to whom will serve first in the team. Once the decision has been made the server will alternate the two sides of the court in each game and serve from there across the court.
Technique of Playing
As with every game, the more you practice the better you get at it, and it’s the same with tennis. A lot of players both professional and beginners, usually study the different techniques involved in the hitting to get the best out of their swing. These can vary widely from one game to the next and from one court to the next as well.
The best tip to note is that in any game, the server usually has the best advantage. Reasons for this are:
1. If proper angle, spin, and power are combined, the player can win at just the initial serve, which will be called the “ace”, this is when the opponent does not reach the ball in time to hit it back. The server can use this to win points outright by hitting it in such a manner that is required a weak return. Also known as an “easy kill”. On smoother and faster surfaces, the server can take advantage and deliver his serve to the net, because near the net the opponent is vulnerable in returning the shot.
2. A net serve gives the server an upper hand in the game, because of the position, the return will either be a weak one rendering it a “net serve” or go out of the court.
So, if you use the initial serve effectively, you will always remain ahead of your opponent. The best ones deliver their serves in varying ways. The patterns change from time to time keeping the other player on their toes and finding it hard to anticipate where the ball will come from. It is also good to deliver it as hard as possible, using strength and swift movements. Another way you can take advantage is by spinning the hit or giving it a kick.
Throughout history, the style of players has changed, along with the different surfaces of the courts as well. no two players will play the same and this is what makes them unique and on top of their skills. Building your own unique ways of playing is what will help you win those competitions or tournaments every time. Keeping the opponent surprised and moving as fast and strategically as possible usually does the trick. Between groundstrokes, serve-and-volley, and short games, players have kept with the competitive streaks and made millions out of games.
There are several different types of strokes to learn as well, these will range from, the lob, volley, drive, an overhead smash, a drop shot, and half volley, all besides the serve. You would decide at the moment which one will help you make the best of it, some are used defensively, especially when you’re in a vulnerable position for instance near the net, while others may be used offensively to put the other person in a vulnerable position.
The most forceful of all the strokes are the “overhead smash”, where you need to take a leap in order to smash the ball to the other side in a quick movement. Sometimes leaving the other person off-balance and you win the point. It is ultimately a game of a mix of strategy and skills, but with regular practice, one can get the hang of it in no time. So, to be able to play it well, not only does your equipment matter but also how you play, on what surface you are playing, and what type of opponent, will all affect the end results.
Learning from online videos, joining a club for those your age, and even practicing yourself in public arenas is a good start to learning any game properly.
Competitive gaming has always been popular. However, while playing Mario Kart in your friend’s basement in the ‘90s may have been as good as it got, nowadays when we reference competitive gaming, we’re more talking about eSports and the competitive tournaments involved. eSports in 2020 is a multibillion-dollar industry that encompasses games in pretty much all genres. That said, there are some that are currently more popular than others. We’re going to take a look at them in this article.
Fortnite
Fortnite took the world by storm when it was released in 2017, and while the general media buzz surrounding the game has somewhat abated, it’s still as popular as ever for eSports. Over $80 million has been awarded to eSports players playing Fortnite over the last two years, with the Fortnite World Cup – held in New York City – being the biggest tournament so far. The game now has over 250 million registered users, many of whom check out websites like Unikrn to work out how they, too, can play games for real money. The website details all of the upcoming competitive events, and enables those who aren’t quite good enough to compete themselves to bet on their favorites.
League of Legends
League of Legends is, arguably, the most famous eSports game in the world. Despite launching over 11 years ago, the total prize money for LoL eSports players amounts to over $75 million, and over 2400 competitions have taken place. Most of the top players of the game hail from South Korea, with China not far behind. In fact, if you take a look at the top 25 LoL players, only one is from a country outside of those mentioned above, proving just how dominant the game is in Asia. Over 8 million regular players play LoL every day, making it the top PC game on this list. It may not be quite as popular as Fortnite, but it’s still one of the biggest eSports games of 2020.
Call of Duty
One of the only eSports games that is purely played on console, competitive Call of Duty is also unique in that it uses a brand-new title every year. Arguably, this makes it a tougher game to crack as it requires real skills and the ability to adapt in order to become successful in this game. It also, however, is perhaps the most accessible for new players. Call of Duty eSports makes use of a franchise-based system with different teams located in different countries – the Toronto Ultras and the London Royal Ravens to name just two. Activision hasn’t released an official player count for Call of Duty, but it’s estimated to be well over one billion. It’s also one of the most popular franchises in the world.
Other games worthy of a mention include DOTA, Overwatch, Apex Legends, PUGB and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. Do you follow any of these eSports? Let us know your favorite one and what you like about it in the comments.
As the lockdown in the United States continues to slowly ease following months of uncertainty, the world of sport is seemingly on the path to recovery. But, one area of sport which struggled heavily during the pandemic has been the sports betting market. And, without the help of the booming online betting presence and the work done by the state of Florida, which was determined to maintain some kind of sporting activity, the market would have been almost empty.
Having to settle for what they can get
For Americans, sport flows through their blood so when the suspension of most sporting activities came into being at the start of the pandemic, there was much panic. With horse racing and WWE the two forms of live sport doing the rounds in the States, sports betting was, naturally, focused on these.
The absence of American football, ice hockey, soccer, baseball and basketball meant that bookmakers had to come up with diverse markets to try and keep some interest. With the major sports all returning in the next few months or so, betting markets will get back to normal soon. Soccer, for example, is scheduled for July, so look ahead to that date by checking out www.toponlinecasinos.co.za or look out for NHL, NBA and NFL parlays and picks in the upcoming weeks also.
Why Florida was, and is, vital for betting markets
DeSantis gave Vince McMahon – a staunch supporter of continuing with live sport – the green light to go ahead with his Wrestlemania 36 and Money in the Bank as the rest of the sporting world sat back in envy. Those events were taken on the road by McMahon to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando as punters wagered incredible amounts of money.
Kansas City was supposed to be the next host for WWE’s Backlash programme on June 14. That, however, has moved to Orlando once more as the Sunshine State flexes its muscles in its bid to become the number one sporting host in the States. As such, the sports betting markets will be able to take advantage of Florida’s brashness and cash in.
Horse racing proved its mettle
Whilst WWE was the forerunner in the States, sports betting firms like Francaisonlinecasinos were helped out by the once-maligned sport of horse racing. Little more than in the peripheral for most Americans, horse racing has continued its calendar and is even maintaining its commitments to the Triple Crown – albeit in a reformed fashion.
Races are still being held on a consistent basis, providing punters with a multitude of opportunities to watch and wager on live sport.
With horse racing barely affected by the lockdown, some critics have questioned how it has been able to escape the all-encompassing suspension of other sports. But, operating a racetrack without spectators does not require many people. And, with online betting at the forefront of the betting machine in the present day, the sport has enjoyed precedence in this area – in fact, 90% of the world’s betting pool comes from off-track betting, giving the sports betting market a great boon in troubling times.
