Rating NBA Contenders As NBA Free Agency Heats Up

by Nikki Adams

The NBA free agency is nearing its conclusion, though several standout names are still on the board with their futures yet to be decided. On the whole, however, the landscape is taking shape across the two conferences in the league and we now have a general idea of how teams are stacking up in the race for the NBA Championships in 2022. Indeed, markets are busily updating early NBA futures in response to the moves made during this hectic week of NBA free agency wheeling and dealing.

So, in this column, we’ll look at some of the teams that strike the best pose on paper and rate their chances in accordance to their NBA odds – if only to aid those that fancy getting in on the action early with free nba picks.

1. Brooklyn Nets

By and large, the Brooklyn Nets are pegged as the team to beat in the coming season and Kevin Durant figures to play a major part in Brooklyn’s awesome favouritism at early doors. There is no player more polarising than Durant in the league right now, but his otherworldly talent and skill is undeniable. It’s impossible not to admire the effortless ease and grace that he brings to court — unparalleled it is in the game today, setting him apart from his peers and elite counterparts such as LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard and Giannis Antetokounmpo to name a few.

Durant makes everyone around him mesmerizingly better – an innate skill that was nowhere more so evident than this summer at the Tokyo Olympics where the Nets stalwart galvanised the men’s national basketball team and led USA to Olympic gold for the fourth successive Olympic games. Durant spearheads a superstar line-up that includes Kyle Irving and James Harden, while re-signing Blake Griffin and adding Patty Mills only enhances the astounding talent at the top, which underscores Brooklyn’s odds for the upcoming season further.

The Nets lost to the eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference semis this season, despite Durant playing at an elite level and twice putting up nearly 50 points singlehandedly in the series (game 5 and 7). Injuries to the superstar triplet plagued Brooklyn’s regular and post season efforts, so if there’s anything that could derail Brooklyn in the race to the NBA championships again, it’s going to be that.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

The LA Lakers won the NBA championships in 2020 against the extraordinary backdrop of the global coronavirus pandemic that forced the league to adopt extreme measures in order to salvage the truncated regular season and conduct the entire postseason in the now famous “Orlando bubble” in an abundance of caution. Going into the 2021 NBA season, the Lakers were amongst the faves to win back-to-back titles. However, due to the quick turnaround and a rash of injuries decimating the defending champions, the Lakers bowed out of the postseason in the first round, eliminated by the Phoenix Suns who went on to reach the NBA finals (l. to Milwaukee Bucks).

The Lakers have been busy in the offseason, adding eight players to their roster including former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard and Kendrick Nunn. Whether this medley of players complement LeBron James and Anthony Davis successfully remains to be seen, with several NBA insiders questioning LA Lakers’ trades and their merits to improve the team as required. On the flipside, bookies are high on the Lakers with what they’ve put on paper, namely because they’re hanging their hats on Lebron James and Anthony Davis.

3. Milwaukee Bucks

The defending champions Milwaukee Bucks enter the betting as the third-best bet overall in the race for the NBA Championships in 2022. At first glance, putting the reigning champs behind the top tandem of the Nets and Lakers might feel like a snub, but the talent and quality at the top is outstanding in the NBA. It’s just the way the cookie crumbles so to speak. Besides, winning back-to-back titles is no mean feat.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was absolutely brilliant for the Bucks in the NBA Finals as he led them to their first title in 50 years and if they’re going to win back-to-back titles, he’ll have to be in top form again. Whether losing P.J. Tucker to the Miami Heat this summer will have a significant impact on the Bucks remains to be seen, but they did add depth with George Hill and Rodney Hood during free agency week that should help offset some of their losses.

In theory, there is little separation on paper between the aforementioned three faves, but in terms of the odds the Bucks are priced significantly larger than the Nets and Lakers. Indeed, for those that feel Milwaukee’s “true” odds are much lower, betting on the Bucks now would be a value play.

How to Make Earnings from Rugby League Betting Online

Did you know you can mint money with online sports betting? However, with the world facing a financial crisis amidst the pandemic, sports betting was also affected. Most of the sports leagues and matches got cancelled or were postponed.

Thankfully, things are now returning to normalcy. And many organisations worldwide are again putting their money into sports betting businesses. Online sites like BlueBet let you place your bets on various games.

Although rugby is not as famous as cricket, tennis, or football globally, here are a few ways to mint money from rugby league betting online.

Basic Betting Types in Rugby League

Match Result Betting

It is one of the most basic and simplest forms of betting in rugby league. You can place your bets on a team of your choice and predict their win in the match. You will make money if your chosen team wins the game, else you will lose the bet.

Half-time or Full-time Betting

You can select sports betting software like BlueBet for this rugby league betting. In this betting option, you can predict which team will be in the lead during the first half of the game. Betting on a Margin

Margin bet is one of the most popular forms of betting in rugby league. You can make a huge amount of profit if you understand and use it in the right way.

Here, you should choose your team and bet their win within a margin of 1 to 5 points. If your team wins the game within that specified margin, you will win the bet and earn profits.

Assigning Handicap Points while Betting

This type of betting is also called spread or line betting. Here, handicap points are assigned to a comparatively stronger team. It should have more chances of winning the game. This type of betting gives the weaker opponent team an upper hand in the match.

For example, the stronger team is assigned around ten handicap points. To win the match, they should score more than the assigned number of handicap points.

Betting on Try Scorers during the Game

Scoring a try is one of the main parts of a rugby league game. It is also the fastest way to score points during a match.

You can place your bets on:

● The first scorer in the game
● The last scorer during the entire match
● A specific player who can score at any time of the match

Things to Keep in Mind While Rugby League Betting Online

Knowing the above-mentioned basic ways to place a bet is not enough. You should also keep in mind some key points and tactics to place your bets in the best possible way.
They include:

Maintain Up-to-date Knowledge

You should always keep up with the ever-changing trends and events in a rugby game. Sites like BlueBet provide information on the latest changes and additions in various levels of a rugby game.

Research on Teams

Studying the history and the past performances of the teams is very important. It will help you to know how and where to place your bets and get maximum profit.

Rugby League online betting is an unpredictable way of earning money. Understanding the games thoroughly and studying the strategies and style of each player is vital before you jump into the pool to make money.

Change is not Always Bad

Bookies from across the United States are searching for an easy way to do their jobs. This bookie business may have a reputation for easy money but that’s a misnomer, the money is never easy, and the day-to-day duties are certainly never easy. There’s an old saying that goes like this; “the house always wins”. Anybody that has ever been a bookie on any level can tell you this old saying is simply a misnomer.

● Bookmaking is not as easy as it looks. Here is the problem – Bookies put their money on the line to people that want to beat them, they are not putting their money up against a bookie in which they believe they can beat. Everyone is “crashing the boards”, everyone that puts money down on a bet has a chance to beat you. Often, there is nothing you can do, it’s either in the cards or not in the cards. A loss is a loss, and a win is a win. There are, however, fantastic ways in which to conduct business that will always give you the leg-up, and that’s by switching to a price per head. Bookmaking is now easy through the use of price per head and here is why.

● The price per head industry has come along at the perfect time for both the sports gambler as well as the bookie. Now, you can take control of your money, your business, and your budget.

● Price per head allows you the freedom for recruiting players. Recruiting players is not always an easy thing. You must have a good reputation with the players you already have, and you must rely on word of mouth. If you want to stay ahead of the game, then you will have a presence on social media and certainly pay a few bucks in advertising costs’. The price per head solution allows you the time to do exactly this.

● A price per head combines three disciplines of gambling – the sportsbook, racebook, and a Las Vegas-style casino. Many bookies make the mistake of not including horse racing in their offerings. This is a bad move. You must include horseracing and you certainly want a great price per head that offers more than 75 world-class tracks and to boot-they pay track odds. Gamblers that play the horses are faithful and if you offer competitive odds, along with the tracks they love to bet on, they will stay with you. Not only will they beat you from time-to-time, but they will also lose a pile of money. Horse Racing is a big deal to the players that love it. Find it, get it and start winning big.

The casino is another must-have and it’s equally as important as the racebook. It’s certainly much different and the draw is not with horse players but with sports gamblers. Sports gamblers get bored easily. They get especially bored between events/games. What do they want to do? They want to gamble. Where do they go? They stay on your webpage if you have a casino to offer them. If you do not have a casino they leave. It’s so extremely simple nowadays. Just a click of the mouse and your client is gone, spending money elsewhere. Don’t let this happen.

● The price per head is your accountant, the software keeps up with every dollar in and every dollar out. It also keeps up with your players, how much they win, how much they lose and how consistently they are staying ahead of the game. Now you can set limits and know exactly where each player is at all times with player and accounting reports.

If you are looking for the easy life and the possibility to make a fantastic six-figure income as a bookie, then you must stop going this alone. Your number one priority should be in finding a top-notch price per head provider. It’s time to let the professionals help you make a fortune and now you can for $10-$15 per head. Jump in today and have your players playing today with a free trial. You will be glad you made the change, and your players will thank you.

Will the Tampa Bay Lightning Defy their Seeding Once Again?

For at least three seasons, the Tampa Bay Lightning roster has looked to be the best in the NHL. Every position and type of player is represented to a tremendous level, with an expansive core of talent that almost defies the constraints of the salary cap era. Still, though, it’s been a while since the Bolts were considered the outright frontrunners for the Stanley Cup.

Of course, this runs contrary to what’s ended up happening, with the Lightning hoisting the last two Stanley Cups. While both have come in peculiar seasons for the NHL, there are few who’d dispute that Tampa Bay didn’t deserve to win both times. With the 2021/22 season marking a return to normality, the reigning repeat champions are, once again, not the top seed in the eyes of the oddsmakers.

A long run of being the outsiders

You would think that a team as stacked as the Tampa Bay Lightning would invariably be favored for silverware each season. The likes of Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point, Victor Hedman, Mikhail Sergachev, and Andrei Vasilevskiy have all been key pieces to the team for years, but the team’s core strength has been well-complemented by players with strong fundamentals padding the lines.

In 2018/19, the Lightning obliterated the standings, with it being called a bonkers season by ESPN. However, after establishing themselves in the history books, they bowed out unceremoniously in the first round. Prior to Tampa Bay’s superb regular-season run, the Toronto Maple Leafs were classed as the +700 favorites, just after they became a supposed super-team by signing John Tavares.

While subject to a great deal of debate, most outlets had the Tampa Bay Lightning as the slight favorites at +675 to make a comeback for the 2019/20 Stanley Cup. However, a slow start and much disruption saw the Lightning dragged out to joint-favorites with the Colorado Avalanche at +550 when the playoffs were whittled down to just 16 teams. Of course, the Bolts went on to win regardless, besting the Dallas Stars.

Last season, the bookies opened with Colorado Avalanche as the favorites by a fine margin, +700 to +750, despite the Lightning returning with much of the same team. With eight teams remaining in the playoffs, the Avs were the +135 favorites over the +400 Lightning. Once again, the Avs didn’t quite measure up, and the Lightning took the crown.

Will this trend continue to see the three-peat?

Once again, prior to preparations for the new season, the Tampa Bay Lightning aren’t the favorites. As it stands, you can find the Avalanche ahead at +625, Tampa Bay just back at +700, and the Vegas Golden Knights in the mix at +800. Despite going all the way twice in consecutive seasons and still having an almighty core of players, the Bolts aren’t the preferred pick in this regard.

Of course, oddsmakers certainly aren’t underestimating the strength of the Lightning. You can just look to the NHL betting from Space Casino to see that the Bolts are still held in high regard, being -145 to beat the ever-dangerous Pittsburgh Penguins. What could be pointed to as the cause behind the shorter Avalanche odds would be the divisional alignments.

In the Atlantic Division, the Lightning will be trying to climb past their Stanley Cup Finals foes from last season, the Montréal Canadiens, the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and a Florida Panthers team that’s finally realizing its potential. If it comes to a wild card scrap, the Bolts might have to also best the likes of the Carolina Hurricanes, Pittsburgh Penguins, Washington Capitals, and New York Islanders.

Colorado, on the other hand, is in a division filled with middling, down-swinging, or rebuilding teams, with the Nashville Predators, Winnipeg Jets, and Minnesota Wild narrowly being the exceptions. Then, over in the Pacific, the Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers rule the roost, with the rest being an underwhelming battle for passage to what would presumably be a short postseason run.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are, once again, not the favorites to win the Stanley Cup. Be that because of their divisional alignment or a belief that the Colorado Avalanche might finally click, it doesn’t really matter as the Bolts continue to prove that they have what it takes to go all the way.
