Who are the big movers in the Super Bowl LIX markets?

We're rapidly approaching the halfway point in the 2024 NFL season, so now is a great time to look at the latest NFL odds for Super Bowl LIX. Since Week One of the season, plenty of teams have seen their odds shift due to injuries and form. Here's a look at some of the big odds movers in the first half of the regular season.

Moving on up

Minnesota Vikings

Week 1 odds: +10000
Current odds: +1200

Few people could have predicted the Vikings electrifying start to the season, least of all the oddsmakers. Journeyman QB Sam Darnold is in the form of his life, whilst the Minnesota D is playing at an elite level. It remains to be seen whether they can ride this momentum throughout the season, but for now, the Vikings are just about the hottest team in the NFL.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 1 odds: +8000
Current odds: +4000

The Bucs are another team riding the form of a journeyman quarterback. After a strong 2023, Baker Mayfield has taken his game to another level this season. The NFC South is not one of the league's strongest divisions, so a playoff spot looks well within the Bucs grasp. With elite WRs in the form of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, plus a solid offensive line and a rejuvenated Mayfield, there's no reason why Tampa can't make big waves in January.

Washington Commanders

Week 1 odds: +15000
Current odds: +4000

Jayden Daniels is THE story of the NFL season so far. The rookie QB has turned the Commanders from afterthoughts into serious playoff contenders, slashing their Super Bowl odds in the process. Washington's supporting cast have also stepped up in the first half of the season, and despite a tough upcoming schedule, the Commanders have an excellent chance of making the postseason for the first time since 2020.

On the slide

Dallas Cowboys

Week 1 odds: +2000
Current odds: +4000

On the face of it, the Cowboys' 3-3 record gives them plenty of hope for the rest of the campaign. However, their performances suggest that this is a franchise on the edge of a major crisis. They have been dismantled in all three of their home fixtures, and their road wins have largely been down to some very poor play from their opponents. Clearly, the bookies don't trust the Cowboys, and with a brutal run of fixtures coming up, their Super Bowl odds look set to slide even further.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Week 1 odds: +5000
Current odds: +25000

This was meant to be a redemption season for the Jags after their 2023 late-season collapse. Unfortunately, Doug Pederson's side have produced a string of error-strewn displays and look a million miles away from the team that started the 2023 campaign 8-3. Franchise QB Trevor Lawrence is failing to live up to his billing, the defence are making far too many basic mistakes and Pederson appears to have run out of answers.

Cleveland Browns

Week 1 odds: +4000
Current odds: +50000

After last season's success under backup QB Joe Flacco, hopes were high that the Browns could improve even further with big money signal caller Deshaun Watson back under center. Unfortunately, Watson has been (by some distance) the most ineffective QB in the league, and the Browns' have struggled to get anything going at all on offense. The recent trade of star WR Amari Cooper to the Bills suggests that coach Kevin Stefanski has already given up on the season, and the bookies clearly agree, making Cleveland rank outsiders for the Super Bowl.
