1993 (College Football): At the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans - as an 8-point underdog, #2 Alabama ends the 29-game winning streak of #1 Miami (FL) with a 34-13 victory. The Crimson Tide were +250 on the money line and the game went over the total of 36 points. Alabama picked off 3 passes by Heisman Trophy Award winner Gino Torretta, including one returned for a touchdown by George Teague. This was the first year of the Bowl Coalition that intended to create a national championship game between the top 2 teams in the country.


2007 (College Football): At the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale - #9 Boise State finishes the season undefeated (13-0) after a dramatic 43-42 overtime victory over #7 Oklahoma. The Broncos were a 7-point underdog and the game flew over the total of 50½-points. The Sooners came back from a 28-10 3rd quarter deficit and took a 35-28 lead with 1:02 left in the game on a Marcus Walker pick-6. Boise State forced overtime when they scored on a 35-yard touchdown catch by Jerard Rabb with 7 seconds left on the clock. Sooners running back Adrian Peterson scored on a 25-yard TD run to start out overtime. Boise State answered with a touchdown of their own when running back Vinny Perretta threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Derek Schouman. The Broncos won the game on the ensuing 2-point attempt when Ian Johnson ran it after quarterback Jared Zabransky faked a quick pass.


2015 (College Football): In the semifinal game of the College Football Playoff, #4 Ohio State rallies from a 21-6 1st half deficit to beat #1 Alabama 42-35. The Buckeyes were 7½-point underdogs and the game went over the total of 58 points. Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns, including an 85-yard run that put the Buckeyes up 42-28 with 3:24 remaining in the game.
