1978 (MLB): Pete Rose's 44-game hitting streak comes to an end after he strikes out to finish the game and goes 0-for-4 in the Cincinnati Reds' 16-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves. The Braves were +150 home underdogs as Rose matched Willie Keeler's 1897 streak for the National League record.

1987 (Boxing): 21 year-old Mike Tyson improves to 31-0 after winning by unanimous decision over Tony Tucker in a heavyweight unification bout. Tyson was a heavy -1200 favorite as it was only the 4th fight of Tyson's career up to that point to go the distance. Tyson became the first to own all 3 major belts (WBA, WBC and IBF) at the same time.

2015 (MLB): Reigning league MVPs face off against each other for the first time in MLB history when Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw strikes out Los Angeles Angels Mike Trout with a nasty curveball. The Dodgers won the game 3-1 as -205 home favorites and the game stayed under the total of 6 runs. Kershaw went 8 innings and gave up no runs as Trout went 0-for-3 against the southpaw.
