1945 (MLB): The Detroit Tigers defeat the Chicago Cubs 9-3 in Game 7 of the World Series in what would turn out to be the Cubs last World Series appearance for 71 years. The Tigers were -150 road favorites and entered Game 1 as -130 favorites to win the series. The 'curse of the Billy Goat' was born when Billy Goat Tavern owner William Sianis brought his pet goat to the Game 4 of the of the series and was asked to leave because the goat was bothering other fans. Sianis allegedly declared, "Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more." The Cubs did eventually win a World Series in 2016.


1981 (College Football): Arizona erases a 10-0 first quarter deficit to defeat #1 USC 13-10. The Wildcats were 21-point road underdogs as they took the lead for good late in the third quarter after quarterback Tom Tunnicliffe's 13-yard touchdown pass to halfback Vance Johnson. Eventual Heisman Trophy Award winner Marcus Allen had a 74-yard touchdown and ran for 200+ yards for the 5th straight week.


2015 (College Football): Portland State sets the record for largest margin of victory by an FCS team over an FBS team after defeating North Texas 66-7. The Vikings were a 3½-point road favorite and the game went over the total of 50 points.
