1985 (MLB): With a single to left-center off of Eric Show in the bottom of the 1st, Pete Rose becomes the all-time hit leader with his 4,192nd hit to break Ty Cobb's record in the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 victory over the San Diego Padres. The Reds were -130 home favorites as Rose would end his career with 4,256 hits.
2010 (College Football): FCS member James Madison defeats #13 Virginia Tech 21-16. The Dukes were a 33-point road underdog as quarterback Drew Dudzik ran for two touchdowns and threw for another.
2015 (Tennis): 43rd-ranked Roberta Vinci shocks Serena Williams 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the U.S. Open semifinals. Vinci was a 15-1 underdog as Williams came up two wins short of winning the calendar year Grand Slam. Vinci would go on to to lose to fellow Italian Flavia Pennetta in the finals.
