1992 (Boxing): Evander Holyfield suffers the first loss of his career as Riddick Bowe wins by a 12-round unanimous decision. Bowe was a +120 underdog and improved to 32-0. It was the first of their three fights as Holyfield would defeat Bowe a year later but lose the rubber match in 1995.


1993 (College Football): As a 7-point home underdog, #2 Notre Dame defeats #1 Florida State 31-24. Seminole quarterback Charlie Ward, who would go on to win the Heisman Trophy a month later, had a chance to tie the game on the last play of the game from the Fighting Irish 14-yard line but his pass fell incomplete. Notre Dame would lose the following week to Boston College and Florida State would finish the season #1 in both the coaches and AP polls while Notre Dame would finish #2.


1994 (NFL): Barry Sanders rushes for a career high 237 yards on 26 carries in the Detroit Lions 14-9 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Lions failed to cover as 10-point home favorites and the game stayed under the total of 37 points. Sanders would go on to win the 2nd of his 4 rushing titles with 1,883 yards for the season.
