1986 (NFL): Irving Fryar catches Tony Eason's Hail Mary as time expired for a 25-yard touchdown to give the New England Patriots a 30-28 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. The Patriots failed to cover as 2½-point road favorites and the game went over the total of 37½-points. Rookie quarterback Jim Everett made his NFL debut and threw for 193 yards and 3 touchdowns.
1991 (College Football): #2 Miami (FL) defeats #1 Florida State 17-16 in Tallahassee. The Hurricanes were 3½-point road underdogs and the game stayed under the total of 50 points. Seminoles walk-on kicker Gerry Thomas missed a 34-yard field-goal attempt in the final seconds that would have given them the victory. Miami (FL) would go on to finish the season undefeated and be ranked #1 in the AP Poll but 2nd behind Washington in the Coaches' Poll.
2013 (College Football): Down 1 with 36 seconds to go and facing a 4th and 18 from their own 27-yard line, quarterback Nick Marshall connects with Ricardo Louis on a 73-yard touchdown pass to give #7 Auburn a 43-38 victory over #25 Georgia. The Tigers got the miracle cover as a 3-point home favorite and the game went over the total of 66 points.
