San Diego Padres ace LaMarr Hoyt earned MVP honors after picking up the win going three innings and allowing one unearned run.
2006 (MLB): For only the 7th time in MLB history a team hits two grand slams in the same inning when New York Mets outfielders Cliff Floyd and Carlos Beltran go deep with the bases loaded in the 6th inning of their 13-7 victory over the Chicago Cubs. The Mets were -128 road favorites and the game went way over the total of 11.
2017 (Tennis): 35 year-old Roger Federer wins a men's record 8th Wimbledon singles title after defeating Marin Cilic 6-3, 6-1, 6-4. Federer was a
-430 favorite for the match and entered the tournament as a +225 favorite to win the title.
