1961 (NFL): The expansion Minnesota Vikings defeat the NFL's oldest franchise, the Chicago Bears, 37-13 in the opening weekend of the regular season. The Vikings were 10-point home underdogs as 21-year old Fran Tarkenton came off the bench and became the first quarterback to throw four touchdown passes in his first career game.

1996 (MLB): Hideo Nomo throws the first - and still only - no-hitter at Coors Field in the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-0 victory against the Colorado Rockies. The Dodgers were +100 road underdogs as Nomo struck out 8 and walked 4 batters on 110 pitches. Yours truly was in attendance.

2016 (College Football): 5-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State beats #13 Iowa 23-21. The Bison were 14½-point underdogs and the game went under the total of 57½-points. Cam Pedersen's 37-yard field goal as time expired gave the Bison their 6th straight victory over an FBS opponent.
