1985 (College Footall): As a 37-point road underdog, Oregon State upsets Washington 21-20. The Beavers, who had been outscored 97-0 in their previous two games, took the lead for a good after Lavance Northington recovered a blocked punt in the end zone with 1:46 remaining in the game.


2001 (College Football): Boise State defeats undefeated 8th ranked Fresno State 35-30. The Broncos were 15-point road underdogs as quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie tossed 4 touchdowns and outdueled Bulldogs quarterback David Carr.


2008 (MLB): The Tampa Bay Rays advance to their first World Series after defeating the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox 3-1 in Game 7 of the ALCS. The Rays were +110 home underdogs for the game and entered the season at 75-1 to win the American League Pennant. Matt Garza earned the win as he struck out 9 and gave up one run over 7 innings and late season call up David Price picked up the save. Tampa Bay would go on to lose in 5 games to the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series.
