1989 (College Football): Junior quarterback Brett Favre passes for 282 yards and 2 touchdowns in Southern Mississippi's 30-26 upset of #6 Florida State. The Golden Eagles were 22-point underdogs for the game played at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida. The Seminoles would lose the following week to Clemson and then win their final 10 games and finish the season ranked #3 in the AP Poll.


1990 (MLB) Dave Stieb pitches the MLB record 9th no-hitter of the season as the Toronto Blue Jays defeat the Cleveland Indians 3-0. The Blue Jays were -120 road favorites as Stieb, who had previously lost four no-hitters in the 9th inning, struck out 9 and walked 4 batters on 123 pitches. It was the first no-hitter in Blue Jays history.


2017 (College Football): In one of the biggest upsets in college football history, 45-point underdog Howard University upsets UNLV 43-40 in Las Vegas. The FCS member was led by quarterback Caylin Newton - Cam Newton's younger borther - as he rushed for 190 yards and 2 touchdowns and threw for 140 yards and one touchdown. The Bison were 550-1 on the money line.
