1999 (Boxing): At Madison Square Garden in New York, NY - Puerto Rican Felix Trinidad improves to 34-0 after defeating Pernell Whitaker in a 12-round unanimous decision. Trinidad was a -600 favorite for the fight and retained the IBF welterweight title. Whitaker fell to 40-3-1 but the loss was considered his first convincing defeat.


2000 (NASCAR): Dale Jarrett wins his 3rd (and final) Daytona 500 to join Richard Petty, Cale Yarborough and Bobby Allison as the only drivers to win the Great American Race 3 times. Jarrett was the favorite at +300 to win the race as he remains the last polesitter to win the race.


2005 (NBA): At the 54th NBA All-Star game played at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO - Allen Iverson is named MVP as he leads the East to a 125-115 victory over the West. The East were a 5½-point underdog and the game stayed under the total 263 points. Iverson, who was +900 to win the MVP, scored 15 points and had 10 assists, 5 steals and 4 rebounds. 20-year old LeBron James made his All-Star Game debut as he played 31 minutes and had 13 ponits, 8 rebounds and 6 assists.
