1957 (Boxing): As the -1000 favorite, Floyd Patterson knocks out Pete Rademacher in the 6th round to retain the heavyweight title. Rademacher, who had won the gold medal at the Melbourne Summer Olympics 8 months prior, became the first boxer to fight for the world title in his 1st professional bout.


1982 (MLB): Reserve catcher Glenn Brummer steals home in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the St Louis Cardinals a 5-4 walk-off victory over the San Francisco Giants. The Cardinals were -160 home favorites as Brummer finished his career with only 4 stolen bases.


2007 (MLB): In the first game of a doubleheader, the Texas Rangers beat the Baltimore Orioles 30-3 to become the first MLB team in 110 years to score 30 runs. The Rangers were +140 road underdogs and the game went well over the total of 8½-runs. Texas would win the nightcap 9-7 to break the American League record of most runs scored during a doubleheader (1937 Detroit Tigers had scored 36 runs).
