1969 (NBA): Behind Jerry West's 53 points, the Los Angeles Lakers take Game 1 of the NBA Finals, 120-118 over the Boston Celtics. The Lakers fail to cover the spread as 4-point favorites. It was the most points scored by a guard in the NBA Finals until 1993 when Michael Jordan scored 55 points in Game 4, a 111-105 Bulls win over the Phoenix Suns.

2019 (NBA): With the game tied, Damian Lillard pulls up and hits a 37-foot bomb at the buzzer as the Portland Trail Blazers ousted Oklahoma City with a 118-115 win in Game 5 of Round 1 of the playoffs. The Trail Blazers were -175 on the money line but failed to cover as 4-point favorites. Despite having home-court advantage, Portland was +145 to win the series as the Thunder lost in the first round for the third consecutive season.
