1977 (MLB): On consecutive pitches with one out in the top of the 7th inning, Texas Rangers Toby Harrah and Bump Wills hit back-to-back inside-the-park home runs in the Rangers 8-2 victory over the New York Yankees. The Rangers were +140 road favorites as the feat happened for only the 2nd time in MLB history and the only time on consecutive pitches.
2004 (Basketball): Behind 29 points from Manu Ginobili, Argentina defeats the U.S. men's team 89-81 in the Olympic semifinal game in Athens. Argentina was a 3½-point underdog as the U.S. suffered their 3rd loss of the Olympics. Argentina would go on to defeat Italy to win gold while the U.S. claimed bronze with a win over Lithuania. Entering the Olympics the U.S. was -200 to win gold while Argentina was +600.
2018 (Tennis): 44th ranked Kaia Kanepi defeats reigning French Open champ Simona Halep 6-2, 6-4 marking the first time the #1 seed at the U.S. Open lost in the 1st round. Kanepi was a +750 underdog for the match as Halep entered the tournament as the co-favorite with Serena Williams to win the title at +600.
