1981 (MLB): The Los Angeles Dodgers win their 5th World Series after defeating the New York Yankees 9-2 in Game 6 of the Fall Classic. The Dodgers were +150 road underdogs and entered Game 1 as +150 underdogs to win the series. Yankees reliever George Frazier lost for the 3rd time in the series to become the first pitcher to lose 3 games in a best-of-7 World Series. The 1981 season was shortened to 110 games due to a player strike and the playoffs were expanded to a total of 8 teams.
2006 (College Football): Oregon State ends #3 USC's 38-game regular season winning streak with a 33-31 victory. The Beavers were 10½-point home underdogs and the game went over the total of 44½-points. USC wide receiver Steve Smith, who caught 11 passes for 258 yards, scored a touchdown with 7 seconds left but the Trojans failed to tie the game with their 2-point attempt.
2011 (MLB): The St Louis Cardinals defeat the Texas Rangers 6-2 in Game 7 of the World Series. The Cardinals were -130 home favorites and the game went over the total of 7½-runs. On August 25th St Louis was 67-63 and 10½-games behind the Atlanta Braves for the Wild Card. They were 200-1 to win the World Series at that point and would go 23-9 down the stretch to win the Wild Card by 1 game over the Braves. They were series underdogs in each of their playoffs series (+245 in the LDS vs Philadelphia; +120 in the LCS vs Milwaukee; +135 in the World Series vs Texas).
