1989 (MLB): For the first time in MLB history, reigning Cy Young award winners face off against one another in the regular season as Frank Viola picked up the win in the New York Mets 1-0 victory over Orel Hershiser and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Mets were +110 road underdogs as Viola threw a complete-game 3-hit shutout and Hershiser went 8 innings and gave up one run.
1992 (MLB): The Milwaukee Brewers set an American League record with 31 hits in a 9-inning game in their 22-2 thrashing of the Toronto Blue Jays. The Brewers were +110 road underdogs as they scored in every inning except for the 5th inning.
1998 (Boxing): William Joppy defeats 37 year-old Robert Durán by TKO in the 3rd round. Joppy was a -600 favorite for the fight as he retained the WBA middleweight title.
