1966 (Soccer): At Wembley Stadium in London: England wins thier first - and to date only - World Cup after defeating West Germany 4-2 in the final. England was a -175 favorite for the match as Geoff Hurtst scored a hat-trick with two of the goals coming in extra time.


2004 (Boxing): As a +900 underdog, unheralded Brit Danny Williams KO's Mike Tyson 2:51 into the 4th round. It was later revealed that Tyson had torn a ligament in his leg during the round. Tyson would go on to fight only once more in his professional career.


2014 (MLB): In a matchup featuring the eventual 1st and 2nd place finishers in 2014 AL Cy Young award voting, eventual winner Corey Kluber outduels Felix Hernandez in the Cleveland Indians 2-0 defeat of the Seattle Mariners. Cleveland was a slight -103 home underdog as Hernandez set an MLB record by making 14 straight starts of going at least 7 innings and giving up 2 runs or less. Hernandez would extend the streak to 16 games before going only 5 innings in a loss at Detroit on August 16th.
