1986 (NFL): In an NFC Divisional Round playoff game, Eric Dickerson sets the single-game playoff record for rushing yards with 248 in the Los Angeles Rams' 20-0 shutout victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The Rams were a 2½-point home favorite and the game stayed under the total of 40½-points. Dickerson had touchdown runs of 55 and 40 yards. The Rams would be shutout by the Chicago Bears the following week in the NFC Championship as Dickerson would be held to only 46 rushes on 17 carries.


1997 (NFL): As a 14-point road underdog, the Jacksoville Jaguars pull off the biggest (non-Super Bowl) NFL playoff upset after defeating the Denver Broncos 30-27 in an AFC Divisional round game. The game went over the total of 45 points as the Jaguars erased a 12-0 first quarter deficit by scoring the next 23 points of the game. Quarterback Mark Brunell passed for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns and running back Natrone Means rushed for 140 yards and 1 touchdown.


1999 (College Football): At the first BCS National Championship - #1 Tennessee defeats #2 Florida State 23-16. The Volunteers were 5½-point underdogs and the game stayed under the total of 42 points. Peerless Price was named MVP of the game after catching 4 passes for 199 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown.


2006 (College Football): In what some consider the greatest college football game ever played, #2 Texas ends #1 USC's 34-game winning streak with a 41-38 victory to win the BCS National Championship at the Rose Bowl. The Longhorns were 7-point underdogs and the game went over the total of 69 points. Texas quarterback Vince Young ran for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns, including the game-winning 8-yard touchdown with 19 seconds left in the game.
