1985 (MLB): Two future Hall-of-Famers reach career milestones on the same day when Tom Seaver earns his 300th victory when the Chicago White Sox defeat the New York Yankees 4-1 and Rod Carew collects his 3,000th hit in the California Angels 6-5 victory over the Minnesota Twins. The White Sox were +120 road underdogs and the Angels were -140 home favorites.

1993 (MLB): After being hit by a Nolan Ryan fastball during the 3rd inning, Robin Ventrua charges the mound and things did not go as planned. Ventura was thrown out of the game and Ryan was allowed to stay in and pitched 7 innings to pick up the win as the Texas Rangers defeated the Chicago White Sox 5-2. The Rangers were even money home underdogs as the 46 year-old Ryan would go on to retire at the end of the season.

2012 (Tennis): At the London Olympics, American Serena Williams destroys Russian Maria Sharapova 6-0, 6-1 to win the Gold Medal in Women's Singles. Williams was a -500 favorite for the match and entered the event at +170 to win Gold.

2020 (NBA): During the restart of the NBA season in Orlando's bubble during the pandemic, the Brooklyn Nets upset the Milwaukee Bucks 119-116 as a 19-point underdog. They were the highest underdogs (in terms of spread) in over 27 years when the Dallas Mavericks upset the Seattle SuperSonics as 20½-point underdogs.
