1993 (MLB): One-handed pitcher Jim Abbott throws a no-hitter in the New York Yankees 4-0 victory over the Cleveland Indians. The Yankees were -220 home favorites as Abbott struck out 3 and walked 5 batters on 119 pitches.
2010 (College Football): As a 29½-point road underdog, FCS member Jacksonville State defeats Ole Miss 49-48 in double overtime. The Gamecocks came back from a 31-10 halftime deficit and won the game on a 2-point coversion.
2016 (Tennis): In the 4th round at the U.S. Open, #24 seed Lucas Pouille upsets #4 seed and 2-time champion Rafael Nadal 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. Pouille was a +770 underdog for the match and would lose in the next round in straight sets to fellow Frenchman Gael Monfils. Nadal ended the year without winning a major for the second straight year after having won at least one major for ten consecutive years.
