Player entered the tournament at +1200 to win the title as Jack Nicklaus, who finished 6 strokes back and tied for 13th, was the favorite at +700.
1999 (MLB): Tony Gwynn collects his 3,000th hit in the first inning of the San Diego Padres 12-10 victory ovre the Montreal Expos. The Padres were -120 road favorites for the game as Gwynn finished the game going 4-for-5.
