1963 (Golf): At the 27th U.S. Masters Tournament, 23 year-old Jack Nicklaus wins the first of his six Green Jackets. Arnold Palmer entered the tournament as the +400 betting favorite while Nicklaus and South African Gary Player were close behind at +600. Nicklaus needed a 3-foot par putt on the final hole to finish one stroke ahead of Tony Lema.
2003 (College Basketball): Freshman Carmelo Anthony leads Syracuse to an 81-78 victory over Kansas in the National Championship. The Orange were 5-point underdogs for the game and entered the season at 35-1 to win the title. Anthony scored 20 points and was named the tournament's Most Oustanding Player.
2008 (College Basketball): Kansas wins their first National Championship in 20 years and third overall when they defeat Memphis, 75-68 in overtime. Mario Chalmers, who hit a 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime, was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. This was the first - and still only - time that all four #1 seeds reached the Final Four since seeding began in 1979.
2014 (College Basketball): In a tournament filled with upsets, #7 seed Connecticut defeated #8 seed Kentucky, 60-54, as 2½-point underdogs in the National Championship. The Huskies entered the tournament at 95-1 to win the title as they were not favored in any of their games past the first round. Shabazz Napier scored 22 points and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
