1996 (NBA): As a 13½-point underdog, Charlotte defeated Chicago, 98-97, handing the Bulls their first home loss of the season and snapping a then NBA-record 44-game home winning streak (over two seasons). 6th man Dell Curry, who had 19 points, hit two free throws with 19.4 seconds remaining to put the Hornets up for good. Chicago would lose once more at home by a point to Indiana and finish the regular season 39-2 at home (72-10 overall).

2001 (Golf): Tiger Woods completes the "Tiger Slam," becoming the only player to win four straight major professional golf titles but not in the same calendar year, after winning the Masters by 2 strokes over David Duval. Woods entered the tournament at +150 to win the Green Jacket.

2013 (College Basketball): As a 4-point favorite, Louisville defeats Michigan, 82-76, in the National Championship. In June of 2017, the Cardinals would have to vacate their National Championship (and 123 wins from 2012 to 2015) after an NCAA investigation found that a member of the coaching staff had provided prostitutes and strippers to players and recruits.

2019 (College Basketball): One year after being the first #1 seed to lose in the first round in the NCAA men's basketball tournament, Virginia wins the National Championship by defeating Texas Tech, 85-77 in overtime. The Cavaliers were 1½-point favorites as Kyle Guy scored 24 points and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
