1996 (College Football): Memphis defeats 6th ranked Tennessee 21-17 for the first time since 1968 and snapped a 15-game losing streak to the Volunteers. The Tigers were 26-point home underdogs as they took the lead with 34 seconds left in the game after quarterback Qadry Anderson hit tight end Chris Powers for a 3-yard touchdown pass. Freshman Tennessee quarterback Peyton Manning threw for 296 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.


1996 (Boxing): As an 11-1 underdog, Evander Holyfield scores an 11th-round knockout over Mike Tyson. Holyfield, who was 20-1 to win by knockout, becomes the 2nd boxer to win the heavyweight title 3 times. Tyson fell to 45-2 while Holyfield improved to 33-3.


2002 (College Football): On the last play of the game, LSU scores on a 74-yard touchdown from Marcus Randall to Devery Henderson to give the Tigers a 33-30 victory over Kentucky. LSU failed to cover as 5-point road favorites and the game went over the total of 51 points. The play became known as the 'Bluegrass Miracle' as the ball was tipped by a Wildcat player right into the hands of an in-stride Henderson at the 14-yard line.
