1982 (NFL): "The Catch" - Joe Montana finds Dwight Clark in the back of the end zone with 58 seconds left in the game to give the San Francisco 49ers a 28-27 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Championship game. The 49ers were a 3-point home underdog and the game went over the total of 42 points. Clark had 8 catches for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns while Montana overcame 3 interceptions and passed for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns. San Francisco would go on to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 21-16 in Super Bowl XVI to win the franchise's first championship.
2004 (NFL): On the first play of the 2nd overtime, Steve Smith catches a 69-yard touchdown pass from Jake Delhomme to give the Carolina Panthers a 29-23 victory over the St Louis Rams in the NFC Divisional round playoff game. The Panthers were a 7-point road underdog and the game went over the total of 46 points. Smith finished the day with 6 catches for 163 yards as the Panthers would go on to reach their first Super Bowl before falling to the New England Patriots 32-29.
2010 (NFL): In an NFC Wild Card game, Karlos Dansby's 17-yard defensive fumble return 1:18 into overtime gives the Arizona Cardinals a 51-45 victory over the Green Bay Packers. The Cardinals were a 2½-point home underdog and the game went over the total of 48 points as the game set the record for highest scoring playoff game in NFL history. Aaron Rodgers passed for 423 yards and 4 touchdowns and Kurt Warner had 379 passing yards and 5 touchdowns.
2011 (College Football): Kicker Wes Byrum's 19-yard field goal as time expires gives #1 Auburn a 22-19 victory over #2 Oregon in the BCS National Championship. The Tigers were a 1-point underdog and the game stayed under the total of 73½-points. Heisman Trophy Award winner Cam Newton threw for 265 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 64 yards.
