1982 (College Football): For the first time since 1938-1939, Tulane defeats #7 LSU in back-to-back seasons with a 31-28 victory. The Green Wave were 24-point home underdogs. Tulane quarterback Mike McKay threw for 233 yards and 3 touchdowns, including the game winning 31-yard TD to Reggie Reginelli


1997 (NFL): Barry Sanders rushes for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Detroit Lions 55-20 rout of the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day. The Lions covered as 8-point home favorites and the game went over the total of 44 points. Sanders would go on to become only the 3rd running back to reach the 2,000 rushing yards plateau for a single season. His 2,053 yards in the 1997 is still good for 4th on the all-time list.


2005 (NFL): Rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick makes his NFL debut after backup Jamie Martin was injured and leads the St Louis Rams to a 33-27 overtime victory over the Houston Texans. The Rams were a 3½-point road favorite and the game went over the total of 45 points. The Rams erased a 24-3 halftime deficit as Fitzpatrick threw for 310 yards and 3 touchdowns, including the walk-off 56 yard TD to Kevin Curtis in OT.
