While it may not be as popular as the NFL, college football is still huge and draws in big numbers. In fact, it’s the country’s second favorite sports league, according to the viewing figures. The incredible atmosphere at the stadiums is part of the appeal of college football. However, it’s also great to watch because you could be seeing the next stars of the NFL.

The NCAAF has always been popular, but the last few years have seen a growing number of sports fans tuning in. That’s partly thanks to the excitement factor but also due to the increase in availability of football betting. Still, even without betting, many fans tune in throughout the season to see some of the most exciting athletic talents in the world. Here are a few of the biggest prospects for the 2023 season.
Brock Bowers
The Georgia Bulldogs are one of the biggest favorites of the 2023 season, and Brock Bowers is a big part of the reason why. The tight end already looks ready for the NFL and has helped his side win two consecutive National Championships. While the threepeat may be a big ask, he’ll likely be one of the key players if they achieve it. This season he’ll be working with a new quarterback, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts to this change.
Marvin Harrison Jr
Another player who could easily cut it in the NFL right now based on his skills is Marvin Harrison Jr. The Ohio State receiver was a huge presence in his team’s close loss against Georgia for the Peach Bowl with five catches, 106 yards, and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, his injury in the second half proved to be a deciding factor, but his talents were still clear to see. He’ll be one to watch this season, especially if he can help his team clinch the Championship.
Caleb Williams
Already likely to be the No.1 overall draft pick at the end of the season, Williams is probably one of the biggest prospects in the sport right now. The USC quarterback has just made history by giving Stanford their largest margin of defeat since 2006. He threw 300 yards and three touchdowns in the 56-10 victory, and fans will expect more of the same from last season’s Heisman Trophy winner. While his side lost Jordan Addison to the draft, they picked up three new receivers, including two highly-rated prospects who should help Williams shine.
Jamon Dumas-Johnson
While offensive players usually take all the praise from fans, Championships are won on defense. Jamon Dumas-Johnson is a player who really has an excellent understanding of the game. The Georgia Bulldogs linebacker is a joy to watch, with strong defending against both rushing and passing. He’s an integral part of the Bulldogs’ success, and it’s expected that he’ll shine once again this season as his team makes a deep run for the Championship. However, this is dependent on his return from injury.
Tyler Booker
Alabama Crimson Tide’s offensive lineman is one to watch for the new season, even if he might not be as big of a name as some of the others on this list. He earned the Freshman All-American award last year even while not always starting in his natural position. Many experts believe Tyler Booker to be one of the best offensive linemen in the NCAAF, with a lot of potential to go on to do great things. He’s in the ideal team, too, as the Crimson Tide are one of the favorites for this season.
