The PPH Explained

The old saying “the house always wins” that’s not true and we want to explain why. We also want to explain when you can count with certainty that the “house will indeed, always win”.
Most online sportsbooks either got their start online with a pay per head or software that’s specially designed for bookies use. The PPH builds the website, they supply the user interface and a wagering platform.

● The customer, (you the bookie) all you do is plug in your clients and form the following function. You are given the tools to operate a successful online sportsbook. The best PPH providers are charging in the $7-$10 range.

● That’s a fee for doing business with the PPH and for receiving the services they provide. You pay this fee per player, per week. You pay only if the client places at least one wager in the sportsbook, the casino, or the racebook.

● You only pay the fee one time per week. You do not pay the fee every time the client places a wager. The one-time fee covers unlimited wagering from your client.

● Sportsbooks can boast a large profit, or they can be marginal. The reason they are marginal is for one reason, players, (gamblers) are getting good at what they do. There is a wealth of information out there about every team, every athlete and every stat known to man.

● The world has drastically changed over the last 15-20 years and what used to be hard to find, it’s now a 30-second organic search on Google. This can make life difficult for bookies and they must combat the “sports information age”.

● You have heard about the PPH for years, but how does it work? How does a sportsbook work and does it earn enough profit to sustain a great annual income? The question on every bookie's mind is the same, how do I make money?

● Many folks are asking these questions and we have the answers. Of course, we could take the high road and say, “it’s all up to you” or “it all depends on the individual bookie”. Well listen, this is true in part, however, there is a patch that must be followed for any sportsbook to make money and as a bookie, you must always keep one thing in mind; this business is and will always be volatile. It’s the gambling business, gamblers can beat you.

● The juice is the negative number that’s attached to the money by the sportsbook. If this same bet were in a sportsbook it would look like this… Giants Vs. Saints – Saints (-140), Giants (+120). This is an example of a money line wager (the money dictates the cost or payout of the wager, not a point spread.

● The Juice: The juice, also called “Vig” is anything over $1.00 that’s attached to a “favorite”. Example: A $1.00 bet would be even money. This is a bet that has the equivalency of a handshake between friends. I.E., your friend is a Saints fan and you are a Giants fan. When the two teams meet up on Sunday you and your buddy have a bet going. You take the Giants and he takes the Saints. This is a friendly wager between friends for say – $20. There is no juice.

● Should the point spread come into play the odds would look something like this… Saints (-4) -110, Giants (+4) -110. The juice on the money line wager is higher priced at $1.40 Vs. $1.20 – Vs. the spread. Most sportsbooks use -110 when offering the spread. This number is standard for the industry. Sportsbooks earn a living on the juice and “cross-action. As a bookie, you want and need all of the cross-action that you can get.

There is no such thing as juice, and this is a lifesaver. Although the sportsbook can be lucrative and an absolute money-maker, the casino is a cash cow, it’s a monetary windfall. You MUST have a casino in your arsenal. Call the PPH provider and ask them for a free trial. You will get the full-on experience and you must start with the casino. Take your players to a place they have always asked to be and start earning a fantastic income.
